Few monthes ago, I'd amplified my 47 (N°16), I know, I'm really crazy, with and old applause amp in good shape (too difficult with a fet amp)and the result is really stunnig and great. Now, I think it's the best guitar I could own, better than my oldies 155 et 189, which are marvellous.
so, look at my pictures and my démo (link on youtube) with the 47 plugged in a Roland ac-90
So, have a good new year 2011 !!!!!!!

That is almost Sacrilegious, but the transplants are all in the Kaman family.

That works great! Good Song, too!

if I were to do it I would go with a k & K and put a endpin jack and not be so intrusive

A rather odd place to mount the preamp...

There was at least one other member here who added a preamp to a 47RI. For the rest of us, we just bought the OFC-I, which was essentially built with specs very close to the 47RI model at the same time, in blue, with the factory preamp, plus a bunch of other goodies tossed into the deal by the creative force behind the OFC-I guitar, Mr. Big.

Sounds Great! ...'makes me wonder though, how it would sound with a really great preamp? I can't remember which model it is (I'm sure someone here will chime in though) that has the undersaddle pickup and a soundhole mic combined? That's what I would have put in such a nice instrument. It still sounds very nice though.

OK, come clean. You're just pullin' our leg right? THis is all photoshop magic, right?

Kinda like when I photoshopped a big Raiders emblem on my 2080? (but in your case much more extreme)

Actually, now I'm curious. Why install that particular preamp instead of getting a 2 knobber from the factory, or sending the guitar back to the factory and having it installed? Or taking Al's suggestion and getting an under saddle p/u with a jack out the endpin?

Same question comes to my mind, Moody.
That's one of the nicest sounding guitars to ever come out of the MS. Why put a POS preamp in it?

In acoustic, the sound is the same, and I really like to do by myself every modification....and it's really less expensive than ship to the factory , and as you saw, the sound is marvelous...
so, thanks, all guys, for your words !!

And damon, it's not photoshop !!! My french friend, adamasplayer (you can see it on youtube, it's a marvelous player and he own a 47 too), after trying it, said it was the best adamas he's never played plugged!!!
So, i'm happy !

Don't throw him stones, I've already done it on the O.T forum in France!!

My first thought was a great photoshop work but after few days, I had to admit that Thierry HAS DONE IT!!
Now, we call him "Luthierjack", half luthier and half lumberjack!! :D :D

For sure this pre-amp would not have been my choice but this #47 is his guitar so... ;)

This is the equivalent of starting with the finest $50 French pastry from the best French chef in the heart of Paris, then pouring a can of Hershey's chocolate syrup all over it. I wouldn't do it, and it would probably insult the chef, but each to their own individual tastes.

That's a really a very special new year announcing Guite, no ? !

I tried that guitar and she really sounds great even if personaly I'd rather install a K&K pure mini or LR Baggs dual source inside preamp (but with ribon the transducer) on it.

So... A really good and happy new year 2011 to you and your family my friend !

That's the equivalent of...
1. Taking a Martin guitar and painting a man's face on the front of it.
or
2. Taking a perfectly good Ovation and spray painting it menstrual red

Well, maybe not quite that bad. Glad you are enjoying it guiguite...it's your guitar, after all.

Hmmm...let's see...Euros converted to dollars (and vice versa), multiply that by whatever calcuations used for international shipping, add the time crossing the ocean, add the time spent with Mother, add the time recrossing the ocean, factor in the horror stories posted here on the board about guitars arriving almost anywhere in the world DOA...send it back to Mother?? Most likely, not.
As the less handy half of the family, anyone who can even begin to attempt anything like that knows a whole lot more than I do, and gets my respect just for doing it. (But, since my knowledge is so limited, that will reflect proportionately on what my respect could possibly be worth......)
Would I have done it that way with that pick-up? No...but I would have had to find someone who could install it, and then pay them to do it.
