Now, I think it's the best guitar I could own, better than my oldies 155 et 189, which are marvellous. so, look at my pictures and my démo (link on youtube) with the 47 plugged in a Roland ac-90 So, have a good new year 2011 !!!!!!! adamas 47 amplified demo on youtube

For the rest of us, we just bought the OFC-I, which was essentially built with specs very close to the 47RI model at the same time, in blue, with the factory preamp, plus a bunch of other goodies tossed into the deal by the creative force behind the OFC-I guitar, Mr. Big.

I can't remember which model it is (I'm sure someone here will chime in though) that has the undersaddle pickup and a soundhole mic combined? That's what I would have put in such a nice instrument. It still sounds very nice though.

Why install that particular preamp instead of getting a 2 knobber from the factory, or sending the guitar back to the factory and having it installed? Or taking Al's suggestion and getting an under saddle p/u with a jack out the endpin?

And damon, it's not photoshop !!! My french friend, adamasplayer (you can see it on youtube, it's a marvelous player and he own a 47 too), after trying it, said it was the best adamas he's never played plugged!!! So, i'm happy !

My first thought was a great photoshop work but after few days, I had to admit that Thierry HAS DONE IT!! Now, we call him "Luthierjack", half luthier and half lumberjack!! :D :D For sure this pre-amp would not have been my choice but this #47 is his guitar so... ;) J :)

I wouldn't do it, and it would probably insult the chef, but each to their own individual tastes.

I tried that guitar and she really sounds great even if personaly I'd rather install a K&K pure mini or LR Baggs dual source inside preamp (but with ribon the transducer) on it. So... A really good and happy new year 2011 to you and your family my friend !

Taking a perfectly good Ovation and spray painting it menstrual red Well, maybe not quite that bad. Glad you are enjoying it guiguite...it's your guitar, after all.

Most likely, not. As the less handy half of the family, anyone who can even begin to attempt anything like that knows a whole lot more than I do, and gets my respect just for doing it. (But, since my knowledge is so limited, that will reflect proportionately on what my respect could possibly be worth......) Would I have done it that way with that pick-up? No...but I would have had to find someone who could install it, and then pay them to do it. --Karen
