But to be honest, the LTD series is designed to showcase the "art" of guitar building. Hence, the LTDs and definately not the best sounding guitars that Takamine offers and often lack the features of other models. Often lack the features of even lesser priced models. Yes they do look "cool". $999. is a good price, but to be honest if it was me I'd pony up a few more bucks and for $1300-$1500 you can get a Tak that sonically blows the doors off most other guitars in its class and (sorry O fan) has the best electronics in the business. Just my opinion. Dave

Yeah, the electronics on this thing looked out there. Whenyou can't figure out the next verse, do you just hit the button labeled "Write"? :D ![]()

It didn't catch on and I'm not sure they even offer that preamp anymore. The nice thing is that all Tak preamps are interchangable. Id'd throw a Cool Tube or CT4BII in this guitar in a heartbeat and it would be a really nice setup. Dave

If you're not careful, you get caught up in the group-think, then find yourself being pushed and pulled along with the crowd until eventually you are reaching way farther down into the depths of your pockets than you ever planned. They're tricky over there. Glad that's not the way it is here. Except for Adamas, and Hamer, and . . .

And that's a good thing no matter which side of the table you look from. Variety is good. If every woman in the world had blonde hair and big boobs wouldn't that be boring? Um, ok maybe not ... But I like a lot of different guitars. There was a time when I had 52 different Ovations in the house all at once. I thought I was king of the Ovation world. WRONG. It was boring, redundent and ultimately frustrating. I began experimenting (shut up Cliff) and have struck a nice balance of a reasonably small collection that covers all bases and the beauty is that every single one of my guitars speaks to me, and speaks to me in a different voice. Guess you could say any of the others such as Taylor, Breedlove, etc., are wannabees. Wannabee to have the level of success, fan base, etc. Yet, each of the guitar companies are creating serious competition for Martin with players that don't buy the name and snob appeal. Until I started recently to spend some time checking out Takamine at NAMM, I didn't realize that they are a major player out there...quality but still not unreasonable prices. And, as an a/e, they have the great cool tube. This last NAMM, I spent time at the Martin exhibit, then Takamine, then back to Martin. They are not less expensive copies. After NAMM, I bought the Tak Nashville TVN360SC with the new -2 cooltube. Getting more play than my Martin D-25K2 and the HD-28VS. Again, as said many times...different flavors. Those of us at the OFC have supported Ovation and Adamas as we recognize the tremendous value for the price...those same factors lead some of us to Takamine. Guess it goes back to what the Crazy Cajun used in an election (with a slight twist)...Its the guitar stupid (not the brand) and, no, not calling anyone here stupid
