We have several successful duos on this site and a few threads on how to find the other half, but I usually find stuff like this:
looking for a band to scream or growl for, (i can sing a little as well)
im 100% serious about this, and i hope the band is as well

im also very easy to get along with and i have my own transportation.
any other questions please email me.

i also have some samples of my screaming i can show you.
thanks,

Those sorts of ads often list "influences" that I've never heard of, but sound dangerous.
Today I saw one by someone who listed James Taylor, S & G, CSN, Croce, the Eagles and others that I recognized well. Only took me two or 3 years to find someone of similar interests. We'll see what happens.

Hurry up and make contact before they die, or retire and move to Flahriduh. ;)

Excellent. And even if you 2 aren't quite compatible for whatever reason, he might introduce you to others who are. Best of luck.

Compatibility with me would be an issue for anyone, especially if I have to disclose my day job. As Bobbo implied, it is nice to know that there are still some people still around that grew up in the 60s.
I got turned down by a nursing home because I was too modern. That didn't hurt much.
I was talking to this kid who had a band and said he did "vocals". I had to ask if that was the same as singing and he said not really. I didn't know people would pay to listen to someone scream or growl.

Just like other forms of relationships, you gotta go break your cherry somewhere,
and keep at it 'till you get good at it /find the right one.

no wonder Beal has so many playmates to choose from!

(just a shame some of them are Darkbar influenced)!

Way I figure it BrianT and I have been dating for almost 8 years now.
When put it that way, we should be much more accomplished than we are.

Great news, Mark. But then again, it's probably DarkBar or one of our usual suspects. He'll come to the gig in dark glasses and a fake beard. ZZ Schnapps!

I'm safe here. DB could never find me. No response to my response yet. I shouldn't have forgotten to say I know Eagles songs, too.

For youall's information, I'm learning some Drive By Truckers as we speak!!!

Mark, I had given up finding anyone to duo with. Then my wife invites some friends over for dinner. Guess what??? The guy plays good guitar and sings GREAT. Good voice and great harmonies. We are getting together to work out a few songs this weekend.

Like a bolt outta the blue!

Actually, he didn't have them on when I dropped him off at the bus station. (The plot thickens.)
Back on point, I haven't received a response to my response to the ad, so maybe he or she found someone else younger and better looking.

Maybe he/she is still looking for their glasses so they can read your email. Or forgot they posted in the first place. hehehe.

I want the rest of the story on Waskel. Please tell me he wore his chaps and took the bus to stay at the YMCA.

darkbar ... which DBT tune(s) are you working on? I saw them last weekend and it was quite the electric show. As the lovely Kimby-D so aptly put it - the Charlie Daniels Band meets Black Sabbath. Templeman warned me they would be loud ... didn't start out that way but as the night wore on, they kept turning it up, and up, and up, and up. Hearing protection was required.

The story about Waskel isn't interesting if I add anything to the chaps and bus station parts.

Naw. Nothing to see here, folks. Flew into Boise, Mark was kind enought to pick me up, annoyed Mark and his cat for a couple hours (funny... his wife disappeared right after I arrived, didn't see her again until I was leaving. Huh.), then hopped a bus into Twin Falls to pick up my Goldwing.
The ride home was a lot more exciting.

And yes, they're backless.

That would make a stranger walking into a biker bar MUCH more welcome.

Trying for a duo?
Start with a banjo picker, it's all uphill after that.

Waskel was the first OFCer I met, just about the time I started my obsession. You have to forgive SWMBO. I think she was a little shocked when I brought home a guy I'd met on the internet, who I knew as "Wabbit". It took her awhile to figure out that most of us are sorta normal, or maybe she just figures it's hopeless.
I think Casa Bobbo is going to be the next stop on the world tour. Any more talk of a second annual Black Hills jam?
