Location: Route 66, just east of the Cadillac Ranch | I bet I’ve started typing this post a dozen times, only to end up deleting it. On February 5th, my wife and I lost our oldest son, Patrick . None of you knew Pat, which is a shame because he was such a great son, husband, father, and friend.
For the past several weeks I’ve been reading your posts and wanting to join in, but for some reason it felt wrong for me to be doing things that I enjoyed. I still feel that way to some degree, but now I could really use the distraction (I'll bet ksdaddy knows what I'm going through). I know I’m still new to this group compared to many of you, and though I’ve never had the pleasure of meeting any of you face to face, I truly value your support and friendship.
Say a little prayer for us if you're so inclined, and tell your kids you love them every chance you get.

I'm so sorry you've lost your dear son. Losing your child is about as hard as life can be.
It might feel like two months is pretty early for someone in your situation to "allow" themselves to do "normal" things, but give yourself permission to start reaching out. We're very glad to see you here today.

| So sorry for your loss. I assume he died in service to his country, and for that there is no end to our appreciation for his selflessness and heroism. |

This is a very sad message and i deeply feel with you. We lost our first doughter when she was a little girl. Loosing a kid is the hardest thing one can imagine. May be time will help to get over this stroke of fate. |

I knew I should have addressed this earlier. Tragically, and probably even more difficult to deal with than his death itself, my son took his own life. Unexpected and unimaginable. We'll never know why. |
