The Oct 27 Rolling Stone (1142 p. 33, S. Jobs cover) has a nice photo of Melissa E. sporting her signature Adamas on the Hollywood Walk:

How can you not notice that axe, even if it's not your color?

I propose a contest: who can NAIL that color with a descriptive phrase?

"Freshly Masticated Bubblegum"

"Queen Frosteen"

She should get that affirmative action rig oil sprayed for the winter might keep the rust off of it and make it look a bit better anymore - maybe install a brush guard or bull bar on Melissa might clean her up a bit too...

The pink is in support of Breast Cancer. She's a big supporter. I wonder if thats the guitar that went for 9000.00 or so on ebay

I was going to say "titty pink", but Steve gave a much more politically correct and accurate response. I think Melissa is a cancer surviver.

As far as I know... it is one of the two...

"October is breast cancer awareness month and this is your chance to contribute to a very worthy charity and score an amazing guitar! ONLY TWO of these Adamas 1598-MEII Melissa Etheridge signature model 12-string guitars have been custom built in PINK for the Hard Rock's Pinktober campaign for breast cancer awareness. Melissa played them both during her 2011 Fearless Love summer tour. She is keeping one and YOU can own the other!" [from the eBay listing ]

We walked in a cancer walk this past Sunday in Litchfield CT. I emailed Melissa to see if she'd join our walk. I didn't hear back from her :) . My wife is a survivor.

Always wondered, is the color to connote, metaphorically, (now) "in the pink", as the goal of surviving cancer?

Not sure how accurate this is but found it on the web,

Pink represents femininity., We also often connect it with romance, love, friendship harmony, compassion, relaxation and companionship. Pink is symbolic of gentle emotions and of emotional unions.

You gotta love the new Breast Cancer Awareness slogan though, "Save the Ta Tas!"

We have a friend being treated for stage 3 breast cancer right now. 35 years old, with a 4 year old and a 1 year old to look after. Its a really bad situation but she's a tough cookie...
