I was going to post a link, but instead I'll just say, if you haven't signed up to recieve Al's newsletter yet, now would be a great time to do so. There are pictures of the coolest guitar I've ever seen in this month's edition. :D

Thanks, Brad! The question is, how in the world am I going to sleep until it gets here on Monday? I dreamed about this guitar in the beginning. It was a dream that gave me the idea to have it made. Now that it's done, I keep waking up from dreams about it and can't get back to sleep. (But I'm playing some great guitar in the middle of the night!)

Just to be clear, we're not talking about the picture of Temp and I at NAMM, right?

Beautiful custom, Alison!

At first I thought Alison was talking about the Takamine (which is a beautiful guitar), but then scrolled down to that gorgeous Adamas. I love the epis.
I think I looked away from the computer the first time in order to rest my eyes after I saw the NAMM picture.

No to worry over the NAMM pic Mark.

You still get to drool over the Woody.

I'm pretty sure she was talking about Temp. In profile no less......

Great guitar Alison, who thought up the inlays?

Thank God two schmucks walking in the rain in Frankfort hit on the idea to put a 14 fret neck on a 12 fret body bridge placement and tune it to D.

Beal, some of my country western friends suggested I have my name inlaid on the fretboard. I hope they weren't TOO insulted when I told them how tacky that was. But it got me thinking. With my last name being what it is, I couldn't resist. And when the factory wanted a picture to go by, I couldn't find one I liked so I just drew that and sent it to them. I guess that makes it a custom custom.

And yeah, tell those two schmucks I said thanks!

That's nice. Chances are if I owned it, I'd tune it down to C. I wonder how squirrelly it would get?

Not much at all. Just got to adjust the string gauge maybe. I used to tune my longneck b-to-b from time to time and it was terrific.

Yep, what Bobbo said. Heavier strings (like a baritone set ) and it sounds great and growly.

Honestly, that is one of the most stunning-looking guitars I've ever seen. It's very unique and eye-catching without looking gaudy or over-the-top. If possible, you'll have to post some clips so we can hear it, if not, send it to me and I'll record it and return it... eventually... ;)

It looks like there's a swan on the trc also? Nice!

Congratulations, great concept, and perfect execution by the wizards at the Mothership....

Congratulations Allison: it's beautiful, and it suits you wonderfully. No doubt the sound should echo across the SD landscape and bounce around the Black Hills....very cool!

Very Nice Alison! That's a real beauty. Please record something so we can hear you bring it to life, and more pictures!!!

What's the story on the epaulets? It's hard to tell from the pictures.

The truss rod cover has an "A" in the Adamas script. It COULD stand for Adamas, but then again, it might just stand for Alison. ;)

Choosing the epi's was the most vivid part of the dream that inspired me to have this made. I wanted a grey pearlized material. When they asked for a picture, all I could find was that stuff they used to make dinette set out of in the 50's. It's called "grey cracked ice". They tried to match it as closely as they could, and it looks like they nailed it.

My friends Brad and Bonnie are building a recording studio even as I type. I will definitely do some recording with this bad boy.

I am a lousy singer, but I'm even worse when I'm not in a comfortable key. A lot of the songs I have written are in A, and I don't want to change the key because then I wouldn't be able to take advantage of the open A and E basses. And of course to me, the guitar part is way more important than the vocals. So the upshot is, you will all get to hear a lot of the songs I've written that NOBODY has ever heard before. (Sure hope I can remember them all. :D )

use the Daddario EJ19 set, green package, 14 to 59 I think. They'll go to B or up to D quite easily.
I like mine at C or C#

Stunning guitar.
Why did you choose not to have an ebony board?
