I figure there is probably as wide an array of recording kits on this forum as there is talent. Here's mine, such as it is. I use this rig I at my office. I always have at least one guitar handy for my lunch hour. I rotate them now and again, but at the moment my resident instrument is my Custom Legend "Flag" guitar. You can't tell from the photo, but that's a Zoom H4 recorder. I can completely close off the the little hallway to minimize noise, as long as one of the phones doesn't ring or a fire truck doesn't whistle by, it works out OK. ![]()

I have converted the walk in closet in our guest room into my studio...roughly 4.5'x 5.5'. It's fairly tight, but big enough for a keyboard on the short wall and a shelf on the other wall with a Tascam recorder, a Zoom A2 for guitar, a TC Helicon vocal processor, and a Zoom Q3. I also have a Fishman Loudbox acoustic amp and twin KRK studio monitors. My challenge is wires and cords. I HATE THEM!!! I can't stand seeing wires and cords, I hate tripping over them, I hate trying to figure out whether to plug in direct or run through the amp, etc. HATE CORDS!!!

Once was just audio and I forgot to turn the machine on. I was thankful that my screwups weren't preserved for posterity and the wedding I performed at ended in divorce, like most. More recently I have a couple of videos of me fouling up the melody of a song I practiced only once and making a face when I messed up a guitar part that no one else may have noticed. My most recent attempt was on video, but sounded so bad that I erased it. Any further attempts will involve significant editing, but I appreciate the saying, "you can't polish a turd."

Actually when I want to record I go over to Davis' house and we do it there. Pam makes great venison stew and is a great bass player. What more do you need?

I have avioded any of the recording stuff because you can get just as wrapped up in that, and more so, that just the 6 strings and where your fingers go. Learning one thing is enough. Fortunately Davis is wanting to get into the protools and that whole side of it. Works good for me!

She did it in a crock pot once and added curry ... MMMMMMMmmmmmm... I think I'm getting that crock pot out today. And PATCH ... you just HAD to show the picture of that flag guitar I have coveted for so long didn't you? That is just outright mean.

The interface is a 2 channel Lexicon Alpha via USB. We have a number of mics, one quite good, the others passable for home use. The extra bedroom is now the music room. The laptop has been replaced with the iMac, otherwise this is what it looks like. ![]()

Can't stand to have cables and wires everywhere but need to have it clutter free in a large area....currently about 800 sq ft dedicated in the basement studio.
