The new one would appear to have been designed by a 5-year old with crayons, letraset and special needs. It would be a perfect way to identify the imports from the good stuff, but to put that poor excuse for graphic design on the stuff coming out of New Hartford is an insult. It's like replacing the original fender logo with the word "fender" in Helvetica.

I plan on contacting John about some projects right after NAMM, and I'll be sure to ask specifically for the OLD logo!

I'd like to check one out, but it really is a specialized extra that only appeals to a small group. Kind of like the Nikki Sixx bass. Or to summarize, I agree with Temp.

I'll reserve judgment on the new F-hole Viper until I have an opportunity to play one. From the front, the sunburst Balladeer looks very similar to my '84 Legend SSB. I could see the logo change coming.

The single side epaulet may change the tone some, idk, but I like the look and I love the soft V neck profile. The '07C was a better looking guitar due to the higher quality woods. I still miss the '07C but it was redundant with the Adamas 2080. Oh... But the Ovation logo was elegant AND relevant AND timeless...unless they are planning on doing away with the bowl.
