That's a killer guitar. The seller is known to a lot of folks around this forum and I don't know anyone who wouldn't say good things about him and his guitars. He knows what they're worth, and has priced it accordingly. If I wanted one of these, and wanted a good one, I don't think I'd balk at this price. I doubt you'll find a better guitar for less money.

Don't buy it. All your other guitars will grow to resent it deeply because you will never play them.

Pull the trigger before someone else does.

I've sold two of these guitars for more than the BIN. I regret selling the last one. It was as nice as this (maybe nicer).

A couple of years ago, beaters were going for over $1200 and I paid $1000 for mine, which was in good condition. They are an excellent guitar. Mine is set up so that it is as easy to play as anything. Do a search for 1537 in the archives and you'll find bunches of stuff. All good. Go for it.
You're lucky I backed out of my promise to give my 1537 to my daughter or I'd buy this one and give one of them to her. (I got her an 83 Collector's instead.)

Dweezil,

I actually logged in to send you a link to this auction. If you trusted my description of the 84C's tone, trust me on this one: You will like the sound these things make! And the price is fair. Mine is at the mothership right now and the price I paid will be about $900 including the factory's spa treatment. The single finish crack is no big deal and has probably been tended to by Ovation. Not many guitars, of any make, sound as nice as these do. :D

That is an early SN. No battery box screw.

This is a great guitar and the seller is well known here and reliable. That price is very fair.

A 1537 is worth piling on that kind of pressure.

Not too mention it's just plain fun! (Double entendre intended.)
