A search will show the reviews from many of our respected members that have either played it or own this fine instrument. Unique opportunity to join a select group. Is there a better sounding wood top Ovation? I don't think so.

Limited run of 50, 25 to international. Deep bowl non-cutaway body, solid AAA grade cedar top w/natural satin finish, 5-piece mahogany/maple neck w/19 fret ebony fretboard (no inlays), 1 3/4" nut width, 25 1/4" scale, neck attaches to body at the 12th fret, ebony pinless bridge, slotted peghead w/ebony overlay, gold Schaller tuners w/ebony buttons, tortoise shell inlayed rosette, Ovation True-Balance pickup w/direct out preamp & preset E.Q. (no controls).

Difficult decision-either this or the "kid sister" 1997 Collector's Parlor. The FD-14 and the OHSC are in as-new condition.

$1,000 plus shipping; PayPal or money order. If it doesn't sell, will either go eBay or keep it. Trades will be considered.

Hebert just emailed me the same question as it is wonderful and the value will go up every year. You made a comment back in 2002 that you thought Ovation prices were going up about 20% per year (sorry if I'm not representing it correctly but that is what I have seen.)

With the palm tree parlor, Suzie has no interest in the 97 Parlor...the "kid sister" of the FD-14. Dave has his 97 for sale so not intending to compete. No matter what guitar I start the evening with, always come back to the 30th Anniv CL. Play the FD-14 but not enough to warrant keeping if someone is "needing" one - not many out there. And, once an FD-14 finds a home, not often sold. No one needs it, fine. Treasured here. If I sell it later, price would naturally be higher. Besides, have the 2004 (II) Di Meola
coming in.

Somebody needs to buy this. Great bargin price for the best sounding wood topped guitar Ovation has ever made. If I had the cash I'd buy it just as an investment.

I'd buy it except I just spent a couple of bucks on another older Ovation.

But the FD 14 is on my short "to buy" list, and just bumped up one notch.

Hi,
Tony, I could be interested. You 'll ship it with UPS, FEDEX ? Because I'm living far from you, in Reunion island, FRANCE. So, tell me how much does it cost to send it

Because there was only 50 made, I consider it more of a collector's item than the collectors series.

Also, I understand that this guitar was originally designed for the fan club with input by the OFC. That makes it all the better. There are some very knowledgeable people here. I've received tons of great information and advice here.

With a name like Jim Smith, you can imagine that it's not often I get to feel so unique.

Jim, Welcome to a very special club. At last count 6 of the 50 guitars were owned by OFC members (I'll brag a little by saying I was the first, ha ha). You will love the guitar! And yes, this model is absolutely more collectable than any of the collectors guitars. It's one of the rarest publically available Ovations EVER and surely to escalate in value in the years and decades ahead.

Dave:
You have an unbelievable web site. Wow. I think I may have bought an old Viper from you a year or so ago. I never knew a guitar could be set up with such low action.
I'm looking forward to getting the FD 14 so I can be 1 of 6! My wife was really good about it too. I was expecting the old "how many guitars to you need?" routine. But she was on board once she read a little about it.

The FD 14 is quite different from anything else I own so I'm really excited. I could hardly sleep last night.

You're going to like the FD 14, Jim. It's got an unbelievably mellow tone. As I noted above, it's on my short list of "must have" guitars.

Yes Jim, I think you did end up with my Viper. Greyburst? The setup on that guitar was pretty good, if I recall. Enjoy the FD-14.

Jim's comment: "I could hardly sleep last night."

To answer why I sold it, that is why...deserves to be played and played and played. However, I will miss it.

This addition will be the incentive I need to post pics of my guitars. I believe I'm 1 of only 6 in the OFC to own an FD 14. Does anyone know what happened to the other 44?

25 went overseas.
6 belong to OFC members.
3 others were sold by Oklahoma Vintage Guitar.

So there should be 16 others floating around the US someplace. It will be interesting to see in 30 years where they all are.
