I've been absent from the board while I've been trying to figure out how to post this. Might as well come straight out with it.

If you remember, we had a guy at church join the band. He played a Taylor 314ce, with the Expression system preamp. The more I listened to it, the more I liked it and realized that acoustically and plugged in, it was very superior to my guitars. To make a long story short, I traded him my 1537 and my 1773LX for his guitar. Here's a pic of me from last Sunday

I've since decided that I'd get all Taylors, and earlier this week, I traded my OFC slothead for a much nicer Taylor, the koa body, spurce top K14

Next week, I'll post what Ovations I still have up for sale.

I guess that it wouldn't be appropriate for me to keep posting here. Maybe I'll mosey over to the AGF and start posting there. Anyway, I'm surprised that more of you guys can't see the superiority of Taylors over Ovations.........

i told you all he was a subversive. :D

paul, i see no need for you to stay away. most of us like you for who you are, not the kind of guitar you choose to play.

i am still awaiting the punch line though...

Paul, I know you were talking about coming out of the closet for some time now. Glad you finally got smart and are changing over to wood.

Hmmmm...there was a Koa K14 for sale here locally for about $1800 so if Paulygirl traded his OFC slothead even up I guess a former Taylor owner must be a very happy camper.

it's best we all stay away from posting that much. it leads to senility. look what it's done to cliff.

and now we know dave's modus operandi. he gets to just over 5,000 posts to avoid the wasteland.

this begs the question why the guy would want to trade you his taylor for inferior sounding guitars?

I was with Moody when he grabbed that Koa Taylor. I could tell right away he was hooked ... especially as he told me over dinner about the 314 he was now playing at his church. He's probably just going through a phase and will come back to his Ovations, but for now there are several of us planning an intervention for later on in the week.

his three chords on a taylor will just cost him more than those same chords on an O.

I can't tell if Moody's serious or not and it's not that I'm opportunist or anything, but I have a nice Taylor 810-e coming that I plan to sell or trade. ;)

Paul,

You are right, what was I thinking?

Soon to show up on Ebay:
Ovation Custom Elite 12 string
1995 Collector
Koa, Red and Black T-like objects
Jim Messina Deacon
A garbage can full of 30 year old necks that are way too thin and straight to play.
A Bunch of Bodies.
What's left of my dignity...

I was wondering if he was just hiding until he came up with something really significant for his 10,000th post. I know that some of the first 9999 contained some pearls of wisdom. We'll have to go back and asterisk all those. He's obviously on some steroids that affects his hearing.
