This just struck me funny.

On the Ovation news page I see that are making a cool limited Olympic commemorative guitar with a picture of a Panda (snicker)apparently trying to... I can't even type this without laughing.

Well, you be the judge. I think the only thing missing is the "blue-flame" shooting out of his butt...

Let's all celebrate panda love and peace... Fooom!!! LMAO :p :D :p :D

I'm trying to picture the demand for that one in 30 years. Will they destroy the stencil after the run is complete???

I do kinda like the fade, though.

Does this have anything to do with the 2008 Olympics. How many Hello Kitty guitars did Fender(Oh yeah I forgot) sell?

The panda looks like they stole a decal off some kid's crib.

I do kinda like the blue fade, though...

I'd like to know if the "people" at Fender made them do it. I can't beleive Ovation's people would think that up.
I'm with Wabbit, that blue fade is OK!

Blue Fade >>>> Blue Flame

Did they know? Or is it just OUR minds?

(being more safety conscious, I tried lighting farts in the tub. Minimal success.)

Well, this should help Ovation get taken more seriously.

I guess it's a world market out there and they are not aiming at our typical OFC member demographic.

Given the world wide hype the Olympics brings I'd bet that they will sell enough to justify the design and marketing.

It would do better in the Chinese market. They wouldn't be able to see it very well through the smog.

I think it's a Fender approved standard finish on all models now. They throw it in for free on the Adamas.

Shouldn't the Panda be lying on a Chinese flag?

If Martin can survive the "Felix The Cat" signature model, we can survive this.

Good on them. This is a Chinese guitar with a Chinese theme being made in the Chinese Ovation factory and sold to the local Chinese market. The "addressable market" is huge over there.

BTW, this is not too far off from the bobbo signature model I spec'd out a few weeks back.
