Anyway, its kind of a double cut Les Paul and I was wondering if anyone was interested in buying it. It is red with a flame top. I might put it on ebay. email me: pstar_munky@hotmail.com

J/K Welcome to the board. You came to the right place. You should have no problems finding a home for it. I'm not sure what they're bringing these days, but they're as rare as hens teeth if your looking for one in original condition. How's it play?

I Bet it plays awful!! :D :p If you find the right buyer, or a hardcore Queens of the Stone Age fan, Something like this can happen. but it would be better off with a true Ovation fan who would leave it stock, play it, and enjoy it.

Anyway, after putting some new strings on it, I plugged it in and...well, lets just say I'm never selling this guitar and someone would have to pry it out of my cold dead fingers to get it from me. Aside from it sounding and playing ridiculously awesome, its extremely comfortable and perfectly balanced. The neck blends seemlessly into the body. From what I can tell, it is all original. It has Grover tuners (no extra holes in headstock) and the weirdest, but surprisingly well designed bridge. Also, the white plastic square around the input jack is not broken or cracked at all. There is no serial number stamped on it, just two foil stickers on the back. One says 1431 (model I assume) and the other is some long number. Didn't come with a case. Only cosmetic issues are a small ding on the binding and belt buckle scratches. From what I understand these are pretty rare and there isn't much info about them, so if any of you Ovation fans would like to know anything else about it or would like me to post some more pictures, I'd be glad to. This is my first Ovation...I guess its a pretty good start. Thanks again for the info guys.

One piece (the one you put the strings through) slides perfectly into the bigger one. The inlays are probably the sweetest shape I've ever seen, but a couple of them are a little crooked. Kinda funny actually. What a ridiculous guitar.

Unfortunatley, many of them turn into "how much is it worth" stories.... Steve, you my friend have been given a treasure, and because of your respect for it, you've already been greeted by the Son of the founder of Ovation, and a couple of the "Biggest Ovation Fans". Hang around, put it in your signature, and try not to get GAS. You'll soon find out that you need a couple of acoustics to go with it, and you wont be disappointed in them either.

Whether STP is spoofing us or the story is real, I think it is great that he came to the OFC and has starting hanging out and posting. Welcome!

Joined: May 2006 Posts: 11 Location: Texas | Thanks guys, I'm glad to be here. And no, I'm not spoofing you. By the way, it was priced at $100, but I got the guy down to $80 cause thats all I had. Luckily I had just gotten paid for a gig the night before. He said he got it while he was in the military and never got around to really playing it. I'll put up some more pics of it in action once I gig with it incase you'd like to see someone other than Josh Homme playing one. And again, since there is such limited info on these, if anyone knows for sure how many of these were made or any other valuable info, please let me know. I'll be glad to take some detailed pics too if anyone wants.
