It would be worth the repair bill...and I thought it was a run of just 50, not 500

Shame!......but $625 doesn't sound unreasonable to have the Mothership work their magic and put this Limited Edition - Only 500 made guitar back together....

....In fact the guys and gals at the factory are the ONLY folks I'd trust to rebuild this guitar!!!

I wonder if the seller is a OFC member?

Yeah, I read that and said to myself "That is About Worth It."

Sorry he dropped it... I don't know if he is an OFC'er...
If I did it, I would have offered it here first.
Then asked for Visiting Rights!

[Also, my Mothership Trip was less than the estimate...]

I just saw this thread. I posted this sale as well. It was 50 guitars built, not 500.

Somebody should buy this and make it right....

From the EBay Acution Text:
I have a large gutiar collection and I made a mistake hanging my guitar on the wall.
"When will they ever learn: When will they ever learn..."

Thats why they have cases...Vanity comes at a huge price...
YMMV

And the reason(s) for not hanging on the wall (apart from it falling) are?

My String Swings are FIRMLY attached to the wall, had big old Fender lumps etc hanging happily for years, the Os are lighter so should be fine noh?

I must say the 1537 will stay in its case when off duty as would an Adamas...

As much as it may offend my Colonial sensibilities, I must agree with dweez :D .

Man, I'm hoping I have enough room in the renovated den (if and when it ever gets finished) to hang some of my 'O's.

Has anyone considered that the owner may have had a 'buzz' incident? Anyone that hangs gits knows to have a solid base upon to hang 'em.

Actually, if I did what was described, it would have been an unfortunate 'shipping issue'!

It does hit deep in that the FD is one that I'd like to pass on to the G'babies... after I get to fondle it...

I hang 'em all, just like any good 19th century territorial judge. Most are on OTS hangers, but I have several that required a little creativity. The problem is probably not with the hanger, but rather, poor attachment to the wall.

I've just discovered the wonderful world of wall hangers. I don't know what took me so long.
In fact I need to put up one or two more.

According to my understanding of the listing, the accident happened while the Seller was hanging-up the Guitar, which is why he was there to try to catch it... So it was human error, not the hanging device's fault.

I would think he'd have to drop it from a VERY high point to cause that much damage. Just look at the celeb that John launched repeatedly at the last factory tour. As is, it would make a great salad server...

So my "For Sale" listing for a 1985 Folklore is a pretty good deal.

An 85 folklore isn't an FD.

You can have accidents taking them in and out of cases, too. I have a dent in the CL that looks like a case latch hit it. For those of us in dry climates, leaving them out of the cases is the only way to have them exposed to the humidifier.

A cased guitar doesn't get played around my house...even the one's with a dust cover don't get as much attention as those out for immediate use!
