Joined: December 2004 Posts: 1116 Location: Keller, TX | I've finally decided to make a custom order. So to make funds available, I'm selling these two. First is the John Lennon Limited. This is an FRG that I got from Al, and I cannot find any defects. Includes OHSC. $950 includes shipping. Second is a Hamer Artist Korrina I picked up locally about 6 months ago. Mild wear, but looks great, plays well. P90s. I'll try to get photos up, but it wont be until at least Sunday. If there is no interest, I'll put them on Ebay.

The single side epaulet should really bring out the bass even more than the original. A few people who don't like the U681 claim that it is too boomy in the bass, but it's all just personal preference. Dave

The biggest problem with them is that when you get the action low and put on light strings, the tone dies. Like Jacob Marley, it is dead as a door-nail. I need medium strings and a higher saddle/action to make them sound full. The problem with the Legend-style is basically the opposite. Full mids, muddled highs, still not very good bass response. Better than the elite style with light strings, but to get the best sound, you need mediums. The Adamas, especially the Millenium with Elixirs ALMOST sounds perfect *to me*. The Adamas 1681 that I had was excellent in the bass response, but I prefer a cut-away and the Adamas-deep bowl made it hard to play. I always felt like I was reaching around it. What I'm hoping is that this will be the Adamas that will tolerate a low action and light strings but still deliver on the bass response without clouding the highs. Or, It may just look cool and sound like crap??!!??

Don't know what the DCC stands for. LOTS of talk about your CU681TDCC-5 :) Since the U681T is nicknamed the UTE, I hereby dub thee CCUTE. Um... nevermind.

Joined: December 2004 Posts: 1116 Location: Keller, TX | I'm changing the topic of this thread to contour cutaway 12 fret because the original topic is dead. Hamer is sold. Zero bites on the JL3 (guess I'll just keep it - it does have a beautiful sound). Originally posted by Tupperware: In the spirit of keeping you posted.... Ttenn, if the factory will agree to build 12 fret slotheads on contour bowls (with wood or adamas tops), this will open up a whole new round of GAS attacks from my direction! Keep us posted. Dave Got a call that the factory cannot build a 12-fret cutaway. Something about a problem with the bracing of the 12-fret neck attaching to the bowl??? I complained that when I was at the tour, I specifically asked if they would make a 12-fret cutaway if I ordered it. There were even a few members that had them (Templeman, for one). I asked my dealer to call them back and 1)complain, 2)tell them about the conversation I had with them on the tour, and 3)if they couldn't put it on a contour bowl make it a medium round bowl (didn't like the Adamas deep due to size) because I KNOW they can do that (again referencing Templeman). Anyway, the dealer called back and said that the problem was with the contour bowl. They haven't figured/designed a 12-fret neck to attach to the contour bowl...yet. I was told that they are gonna work on it and let me know. I haven't been told if they are gonna build mine with a contour or round bowl, I have faith and am inferring from the above message that they haven't yet produced a contour cutaway 12 fret, but are currently in the design stages. Hopefully it will be a short process and we will have the ability to order 12 fret contours. Will "Keep you posted".
