Other than the owner switching to the banjo, is there something I'm missing about that should make me reconsider? I've been the high bidder on several of these recently, but haven't met the reserve price both times. Do you think $450 is too high? |

I didn't mean to impy there is anything wrong with the guitar...just having a little fun with his motive for selling (and to irritate any happy banjo pickers on the OFC ;) ).
My gut instinct is that this guitar will sell for less than $450.00...I'm thinking three something..but again, I really don't know.

I'm frantically searching for another shallow bowl Ovation since my CS257 fell over and snapped the previously repaired headstock. I thought I'd be better off with an Ovation USA model. I just discovered the forum here, so if anybody has a suggestion or a guitar for sale I'm all ears.
The CS257 was my first Ovation and I fell in love with it. No joy since its demise! I loved the shallow bowl, low action, and thin neck. I missed a little bottom end playing unplugged, but then I have another acoustic that can boom, but I don't like playing it as much. |

Location: Long Island, NY | Go for it Brian. $450 is definitely NOT too high a price. Play it smart and snipe. That means don't bid until the last 15 seconds of the auction, then bid the highest price that you can afford. If your really want the guitar, go as high as $480. This is a great guitar from the 80's. The current bidders appear to be eBay amateurs, except for Roundback (an OFC member) but don't worry he won't bid any more. |

Does anybody have a suggestion for a better model with the shallow bowl and still keep me within my credit card limit? Or should I consider a mid-depth Ovation? |

Location: The State of Hockey | I've been looking for an 1868 Elite for a while. The bids have been going from $380 to $595. I would really like the white body. The last white body had a $800 BIN price, I think thats way too much. So I'll keep looking. I would be interested in an Adamus 1881.

The 1868 is one of the better shallow bowl models. This particular guitar looks nice. You may get lucky and win the bid for under $450. A mid-depth Ovation will cost more. Do you want a new guitar? Contact Al at lostartvintage.com and find out what he gets for a mid-depth Balladeer or Elite T. |
