Joined: March 2006 Posts: 3 | Round-back guitars are notorious for slipping on your leg due to the shape and texture of their fiberglass bowl. Finally ... there is a solution that really works ! Slip-Grip is a self-adhesive, "anti-slip" patch that eliminates the frustrating slipping motion of round-back guitars when they are played while sitting down. If you would like more information regarding Slip-Grip, please contact me at: Slip-Grip@verizon.net Jim

If slippage is a problem for you, give these a try. Jim, I remember several of us mentioned the "glue" issue. Was this ever addressed?

After cleaning the bowl area with an alcohol wipe and geting the paper backing off the patch, it applied easily to the bowl. The "anti-slip" surface worked, but I found the Slip-Grip Patch only partially attached to the bowl the next morning.

All I can say is, that it works perfectly for me now. If you have the problem of losing your guitar all the time (where the hell is my legend???) give it a try and your baby will stay on your knees...

I think it is the angle at which some people hold/place their guitars on their laps....or maybe they started out with box guitars vs ovations and developed bad habits. I never heard about the "hair spray" solution either.

You spray it on and as a liquid it acts as a lubricant so you can slide the grip easily on the handlebar. Then it dries just like a glue and holds the grip firmly in place. I've never had any troubles with slipping either, but that does not mean the problem does not exist for others. 3M bathtub anti-slip tape also works well. Dave

You have to get the daisies from a company called FunMats. 3M makes anti-skid tape which is 3/4 inch wide and 17 inch long. Just cut it to size and stick it on. Rumor has it that my former "life partner" Standingovation is also working on a line of anti-skid products which should hit the market soon. We can only hope his defination of a anti-skid is the same as ours. Dave
