Due to circumstances beyond my control, it's time to let others enjoy these wonderful instruments. All of my guitars are online now with recent (albeit not especially great) pictures at http://www.baronaudio.com/collection/inventory.asp I will be keeping some special ones, but I haven't totally decided which ones those will be. As soon as I get everything updated I will be posting them on eBay, but I thought I would let them be previewed here first for those that may be interested. Feel free to EMAIL ME via mileskb@aol.com if you are interested in particular guitars. I will not be posting or discussing prices here. If you see a guitar you are interested in, MAKE A REASONABLE OFFER, it's that simple, don't be shy. A little history on my collection. Many of the guitars in my collection are basically New Old Stock. I acquired many directly or indirectly from the Factory and many others are from Bill Kaman's collection. I have several one-off models that were built at the factory. There are a few historic and prototype models as well. Also I have many parts including hardware, bodies and necks for Preacher, Viper, UKII, UltraGS, and Magnum Bass models. Most of the guitars are in Excellent condition. It's a tough call on some because I know they have never been played other than when they went through QC, but have a ding someplace from being handled over the years. I guess we'll call that shop wear. All guitars will be given a basic setup, and a new set of genuine Kaman Performer strings at the time of sale. I believe all of my Ovations have original Ovation cases. So here's your chance. I guess all of the guitars are in a way part of Ovation History as they are all part of what has been described as the "definitive" Ovation Solidbody Collection. I'd love to see them, and rather see them, in the hands of my fellow Ovation Fan Club folks instead of going to some anonymous stranger on eBay. Enjoy

As my uncle used to say, "It sure is unhandy to be poor." Maybe I can raise some funds to aquire one.

Hey, I'm in the UK, and it went smoothly. You guys locally should definitely get in there. If I hadn't just driven into a tree, I'd be in like Flynn here. Do it, quick! JB

Joined: December 2001 Posts: 7224 Location: The Great Pacific Northwest | Thanks for the responses guys and thanks for the offers too. The selling of the collection is a combination of things. Of course money is on the list near the top, but there are several reasons, one of which is that when I inventoried everything for moving it was pretty sad to see so many unplayed instruments that can't even be seen by anyone. I have actually been planning this for awhile, but just the logistics of listing so many guitars has had me putting it off as long as possible. Anyway, as I sell them, I will be taking pictures to finish my collection website, which was the catalyst for acquiring them in the first place, so that's a good thing in my book. I don't know about others, but for me the "collecting" is the fun part. For those interested, as I stated above, eMail me with your offer and don't be shy. As far as additional pictures, that won't happen until whatever I decide to put on eBay happens. Those that know me, know where most of these guitars came from and the condition they are in and how they have been kept. All of them are packed for shipping already (as it was just easier to load them to move that way. As stated above, I will be unpacking each guitar before I ship it to check it out, but to get guitars out to just take pictures just isn't feasible. Happy bidding and again, thanks for the interest.

What I am asking is, will a person have more than one chance to make an offer? thanks noel

Also be nice to know if we are in the same ballpark or totally off base from where you want to be.

I have just been answering the emails as they come in. I will update what's been sold as it happens.

Joined: February 2004 Posts: 2487 | Jeeeesuuus Miles. Quite the investment my friend. Thanks for the offering here first as well. If you'd happened to had a Chapman Stick or a doubleneck acoustic Bass/Guitar in there I'd be all over it. I am surprised to see the Messena Deacon for sale. This is the one I'd like to make an offer on.... But then that would be greedy....and I really am going to need money for the items I have mentioned. Are you getting out of the whole Ovation fan club thing as well?? Or is this rude to ask? Randy

Joined: December 2001 Posts: 7224 Location: The Great Pacific Northwest | LOL... Not getting out of the Ovation Fan Club (probably couldn't if I wanted to). Just reducing the collection and letting some others enjoy a few nice guitars. It was fun collecting, and I'm certainly keeping some nice ones, and ones that hold meaning for me and the History of Ovation solid body guitars. But it's getting to be a logistics problem at this point, and guitars are meant to be played, not sit in boxes.
