Also, since the soundholes are similar, how this one sounds vs the 2080? I know listening conditions weren't optimal but I am sure this gang somehow formed an opinion.

Joined: January 2005 Posts: 640 Location: boulder | t, I have played all three. 47-ri is in a sound class all its own. the 2080 is actually a close second to 47ri. clear toned, very rich sounding, full tone, not as bassy as the 1581RI, but it has a deep even sound. The koa limited as I remember was a mini cannon. as close to an adamas as an ovation can get. of course you gotta take this all with a grain of salt (and a lime and a shot). if you have heard/played the koa collectors-you will doubly lo9ve the koa lost art limited (KLAL)

Since the humidity here is so horrible on the wood tops, I tend to sway more towards the Adamas line anyway....but damn that Koa looks pretty!

I think the 2080 bridges the original adamas guitar with a modern day equivalent. I have been trying to get this guitar built since I saw it and now it will come to fruition. final specs on the way. look for sequencial numbering certificates tortise binding and a third input to pump in extra mojo.
