Part museum piece, part one of the damn best wood topped guitars Ovation has ever built! You know all about the 1537 so I'm not going to go into details. The guitar is immaculate! No lacquer cracks, no nicks, dings, no wear, NOTHINIG. There is one erasure sized mark in the front near the edge that you'd never see from 2 feet away. Neck is perfect, no wear at all, no tarnish on the gold hardware. Binding is perfect, etc., etc. I had removed the 2 knob electronics from this guitar a few years ago and had been playing it as acoustic only. But last night I put the electronics back in, new battery, and everything works perfectly. Actually I was amazed how good it works! Action is low and fast with no buzzing. I just don't know what else to say about how nice this guitar is. Even includes the Glen Campbell signature truss rod cover. Sadly, as nice as this guitar is I just can not justify keeping it. It gets no play at all and it's such a special Ovation that it should be elsewhere in this club. Yes, I will regret selling it, I always do. So here's the deal. There have been some bargain 1537's and fixer uppers lately on ebay. My guitar is NOT one of them. If you're looking for a project, look elsewhere. If you want a pristine museum piece of Ovation's history in perfect working condition and 9.99 cosmetic condition with like-new hard shell case then drop me a line. $1200. delivered to your door in the USA. Additional photos and details of this guitar can be found HERE. Contact me if you have questions. Dave

The sound that comes out of these gives a tingly sensation!!!and makes you hair stand on edge!!!

What will the next incarnation be? Garonemartin? or Goneamartin? How could you do it Dave? Regretting it already? Its a sad day in OFC history. For penance you must buy another 47RI. On the other hand, Jim, good get! ![]()

I also regretted selling others (shiny bowl balladeers, josh whites, custom legends, hurricanes, thunderheads, a fretless typhoon, ultra-GP, etc.). But they are just guitars and I had the honor of owning this 1537 for some nice years of enjoyment. Time to move on. Funny you mention buying another 47RI. That would have been a bargin compared to some of these other possibilities. How could you do it Dave? Regretting it already? Its a sad day in OFC history. For penance you must buy another 47RI. It's funny how tastes change. When I joined this club way back when, I only had wood topped Ovations. I had no interest in Adamas, thought they looked silly. But over the span of 4-5 years I've collected (and fallen in love with) quite a few nice Adamas and at the same time have almost purged all my wood topped Ovations in favor of other guitars. I never would have predicted this happening. Dave
