Sorry, I'm still missing something. It just looks like a regular elite T with white purfling and an enormous serial number.

It DOES look like a good, "RockBand" gigging acoustic, . . . I agree tho, it could do without the "tag" . . .

I've just sent the link to our bass player. He cancelled a recent custom order and is looking for something different. I told him that I just bought its matching red twin 6-stringer. Next thing you know, we'll be wearing matching continental jackets. Anybody remember those?

It was just a cheap suit jacket without any collar, usually in some iridescent color. Ours were light blue that changed to green and yellow. The Beatles took a famous early photo in continental suits. They were standard pop band uniform in the early 60's. I like the spare tire on the back explanation better. That was good, 2ifbyC!

As for the loser on the home page....I mean...Mick Thomson:

I was raised by my parents to believe my life should count for something; that whatever I do with my life needs to make the world a better place to live in, needs to have a good effect on those I come in contact with.

What the hell did this guy learn???

The guy looks like a mope, and they messed up the guitar "tag"

Agreed though, it looks like a good gigging machine. They should've made the tag smaller and put it on the 7th fret. But since they didn't ask me, they'll just have to live with it.

My Dad had a similar reaction in the early 70's when he found a Hendrix LP accidently left (by me) on the family record player. Dad called him a "guitar burning negro" and he threw away the actual LP. Ironically, to this day I still have the empty LP jacket. I think of Dad and chuckle every time I see it.

Yes, given enough time we do become our parents.

i realize it's just "business", but after perusing some of the info on mick thomson, i am rather disappointed to see a business relationship between ovation and his ilk.

When anyone in the family wants to piss me off, they call me "George", my dad's name. He basically did the same thing with a Black Sabbath tape I had. He was right.

The guys from Slopknit were at the NAMM show signing autographs. The lines to get to them were ridiculous. They're a hugely succesful band, so it's got to a good business move, regardless if anyone here likes them. Personally I think if it raises the profile of the brand to a younger, hipper audience it's got to a positive thing. It'll certainly have a bigger impact on the market than the Josh White and Glen Campbell reissues.

Make more money than he knows what to do with so he can spend time with his family, send his kids to the best schools and pretty much do whatever the hell he wants to at this point.
