It's better if you watch it with the sound off.

Wow! The only thing that surpasses his stunning guitar playing is his incredible microphone technique, amazing sound engineering skills and his incredibly subtle and tasteful use of delay.

And this just reminds me that I'm trying to make a recording myself and the only thing that mitagates the use of cheap microphones and even cheaper recording equipment is the total lack knowledge and experience in what I'm doing.

And to top it all off, people who know what they are doing are going to listen to it.

I gotta admit... the D-28 sound pretty good.

The D-28 sounds much better at least in the way you are playing them both. A better test would be to play something a little softer in a finger picking style.

Hmmm...not better, different. I thought your attack was a little more aggressive on the Marquis. It's kind of apples & oranges anyway.

Actually, a pretty fair comparision: I'd give the edge to the Martin.
I like to have seen the comparison between the D-28 and an Adamas I or a #47 RI...

Sorry, but I think my ears deserve better than a compressed youtube clip played over the speakers on my laptop. Both guitars sounded like shit. Dave

Well I just played an emergency gig last month on a vintage Martin D 28. I will testify UNDER OATH that you can't do justice to DiMeola's "Fantasia Suite for Two Guitars" or Gismonti's "Frevo Rasgado" on a Martin.

Strumming a few chords in first position is as much a test as watching a parked car.

Dobro, I'm afraid I couldn't do justice to either one of those on any guitar.

I personally think his shoulder shaking was more enthusiastic with the Martin which probably lead to his perception the Martin was sounding better.

If he would keep his damned ears still, he'd realize he's full of shite.

Sorry Brad. Kinda new around here and don't know all the players. Just making a comparison, as I heard it.

They are different tools and need to be used for their different jobs. One is a wrench and the other a screw driver, different tools and different applications.

Of course you can always use a hammer for everything except an electrical problem.............

That's why they make the hammers with rubber handles.

My Morgan Monroe has that deep booming bass, very much like a Martin. It's great when I'm playing bluegrass with my friends. It's loud enough to compete with the banjo and mandolin and fiddle.

But when I want to play some jazz, NOTHING can beat my Ovation. It sounds pretty good for classical too.

I preferred the Adamas. I thought the Martin had a bit too much information in the midrange...

... but then again I'm listening through these crummy computer speakers. You can't really tell unless you're there in the same room with 'em.

I thought the Adamas had better note definition though. The Martin was kinda muddy/murky IMO.

I think both sounded pretty well. Two different guitars - each having its own unique sound.

If that's all that guy's gonna do with them, what the hell difference does it make what guitar he plays?

.... he's an idiot.

I can't quite work it out.

Is he trying to make believe that he's talking to an audience?

Who would care anyway

I guess if you like muddy & indistinct mids, then yeah. He probably can't hear the mids & highs from having damaged his hearing by playing his iPod too loudly. And +1 on First Alternate's observation.
