In case anyone's interested.
Collings DS2HMhA Custom on ebay

Very similar headstock to this one, minus the binding.

I have a hard time with the dred size -- but that 00 shown in the picture -- that i could live with (without the bling of course)

Early 45-style torch and snowflakes neck on a D28 body. Killer! I had a 12-fret triple-O like this years ago. Another guitar that I should never have sold.

I just bought one of their archtops, a 1988. Should get it next week.
Love that picture by the way.

No I still have that, it's a OO-42B
Dave bought the CW-28Bs/b
I may have to have Debanjo go look at this one if it's got a wide neck unless someone else buys it first.

Grain in the top isn't too consistent for a 5k guitar.

Grain looks matched to me and the description claims that it matches. Not sure which pics you are looking at?

Anyway, guess we will find out next week.

Nice guitar Stephen! Tone report would be nice once you have some time with it.

The sides of the top match each other, but I thought the better quality spruce had tight grain consistent throuout. This one's tight on the edge, then the grains get wider, then they tighten up again. Is that normal? My C.L. has pretty much the same width between all the grains.

NICE! Will be interested to hear how you think this sounds vs. the 12 fret Martin. Probably both nice but different. Congrats.

cwk2, is this the Collings 1988 archtop that you're waiting to come in?
