ADAMAS
1979

I got some picts of this adamas from the seller but I can't believe they are same picts of the adamas guitar on eBay.. in particular, pick guard and the color of the epaulettes.

some one ask the seller s/n, more picts? I have not obtained the s/n yet.

thank you.

Now that one has some Blue, looks like the early version with metalic flakes. Nice. early one..... electronics are not the best for giging but condition looks to be pretty nice. Well worth some bids guy's. Good luck

Looks like a poor picture to me. Bad background, bad lighting and bad exposure. Have him take or send another one. It will be interesting to see the final price for this one as there is another one on the bay with a BIN of 2399, relisted after no buyers @ 2499.

see the epaulettes (the auction page).. It has dark wood in the center of them. this type is for -7 bage.... However, the pict on the ebay seems like -8 color.., it should has bright wood in the center. I handled #72 proto type in the past. It has -7 epaulettes (dark wood in the center) I guess the pict on eBay is #72..
what is the real color#?

-8

-7

Color Blind that I am, I see a bit of difference in between the two.
I like the darker blue, I think, but that may change.
I'd have to see them both in the flesh.

Just a random statement/question...
Why can't people post good photos with their spendy guitars? Is it the extra thirty cents or what?

sorry mistook,!!!! above them were opposite. -8 is the bule color and -7 is bage. Please replace the caption (-7 -8)on the above two picts.

I write the points:
1 The -8 bule has bright wood in the center.
2 the -7 babe has dark wood in the center.
3 the pict of the auction adamas dark wood in the center shoud be bage color, HOWEVER the color seems like bule. and the seller have not answered the s/n and color number.

I'm working on ovationtribute website since near 3 years and these pictures were sent to be by the previous owner from Germany.
I don't know if that German guy still owns the guitar today??
One thing is sure to me, the Adamas from the listing seems to be blue and the picture above came without any doubt from a beige.

That's all I can say...

Ok, I see... the guy did filter over the back ground as the pict is his original.. cheap lol. or he don't have digi cam? haha. anyway, the listing pict is strange, bule with the dark wood in the center.. It is not normal line, as I told, I've never seem it without #72. Jérôme, do you see where is the source of the listing pict?

take care guys.

I don't know where this picture comes from??
But I've seen this capet before... :D :D :D

I don't want to say that the seller don't have the guitar but it's always strange to me when someone use pictures of another guitar without saying something like that: "I don't have a digital camera and mine is the same as this one...".

Just my opinion.

I asked the seller about model and serial # and this was the answer:

"The model number is 1687. Sorry, but the s/n will disclosed to the auction winner on the PayPal invoice prior to Payment. Thanks"

To me this auction is a scam.

I've been watching this one too, and it does seem a little suspicious. Did you guys notice there is another Ovation case in the background of the listing picture? Also, he says it was refretted 18 months ago yet they seem like new, whats up with that?

Guiguite,

Al has a vintage 1687-8 for sale on his website. s/n is 472-92. Maybe this one is of interest for you.
