John, I didn't even know you had this. Why the sale? It looks like a great deal for somebody....

Every time I see this:

»ßσπΣÿ WΣmΘ∩ ßwådw奫
I parse it as "Ebony Woman Bradley."

The more times I see pictures of the 2080, the more I like it. Actually, it would be more accurate to say, "...the more I like Tom's custom 2080." That's a nice looking guitar, Waskel, good luck with the sale!

Disregard my previous note in this thread.. just an inside joke with john. John your PM box is full. Played one of these at the OFC-NW gathering last year and it was very nice. Good luck with the sale!

Tom's custom 2080 was one of the finest O's I had ever played. It makes me question his sanity that he wasn't certain he wanted it when he got it....

very good condition? It looks new to me. Good luck on the sale John. I might be interested if I weren't sending 3 of mine back for refurbs.

Jim, it might as well be new. Tags and manuals included.

My reasons for selling have nothing to do with the quality of the guitar. This is arguably one of the best production Adamas models in recent years.
As I've explained to Paul and Jim, I simply don't need it, my 1581 and 87C fill my acoustic 6 string needs very nicely.
Someone will be very, very happy with this guitar.

Cluster, just to help you quell your prurient deviations I have revised my signature.
Hopefully even you won't be led astray by it.

Boney Lemon Bradezy? Give me some time - I'll get it yet.

(Good luck with the sale, jp - no question, someone will be very happy with that one!)

I got to play that one, and it is totally awesome. It looks even cooler in real life than pictures show - very much something that grows on you. Almost tempted to get it myself, if the pot wasn't already running over with guitars coming in...

Nice guitar John! Looks like a great price too. I hope somebody here grabs it. I would be interested - if I had any money! Best of luck with the sale.

What does it sound like?

Thanks, Dizzy. I thought it was a darn good price, I'm kind of surprised it hasn't sold yet.

It sounds like... an Adamas!
Responds really well to different styles, from whispery to thundering. Even tone all across the strings. Better than the SMTs I've heard (though technically it is an SMT). The VIP is pretty cool. I've only played with it a little, but I'm starting to appreciate it more.
And the look definitely grows on you.

Oops, correct that. It's not an SMT, it's CVT. No wonder it sounds better.

Yup...and acoustically I'd say it's on a par with my old 1581 - a little different sound, but equally Adamas fantastic.

mtnbikerfred ,

Thank you for the link, that helped.

What type of construction is the 1581 that other's in this thread have referenced? i.e. is it a CVT or an SMT or something else.

Regards,

Tom

Waskel,

Does the 2080 have fret markers on the side of the neck? Thank you.

I think all the 1581's are the old style tops.
