Those white pearl top '86 Collectors 12-strings don't seem to pop up very often any more. I think most of them must be in the hands of fond owners. You might try a Google search, if you haven't already done that.

The last really nice one of those I remember seeing was on Ebay a few months ago. It didn't sell the first time around, but the second time I think it went for around $600 (which made me ill). You might happen upon one for cheap that needs a trip back to the factory for some TLC. Then you'd just about have a new one. Good luck in your search.

Joined: September 2003 Posts: 815 Location: Colorado | Welcome Max! There were a matched pair (a 6 and a 12) of 1986 CEs on Ebay a month or so ago from the same seller. Both were claimed to be very mint, hardly (if ever) played, but expensive. I think each of them was listed with a BIN of $1195 (?) and sold pretty quick. These are rare for sure, especially in such great condition. I wish Ovation would make a CE like this one and the 1985 again--a 6 and a 12. Even just a 12 would be cool to switch things up for a change. Best of luck Max.

I always check this website to see what is hot and this guitar is. I play my custom elite most of the time or my 1114. But since ovtion was bought by fender I believe the older guitars will gain in value. Anybody have any feed back on this.

People might be a little more reluctant to fork out a lot of money for a guitar. And Christmas might have been some reason that guitar brought that kind of money.
