If it works out, it will be the new home. If not, it won't.

Lots of features... video, photos, profiles, essentially everything people have been asking about, and we ARE a social network, so I thought I would give it a spin, kick the tires etc...

It's also VERY easy to manage, more bandwidth, etc etc..

Looks interesting but my main question would be how the forums are laid out. Didn't look like you could easily read all the comments in the thread????

Other than that, it looks and feels REALLY COOL!!!

It pages and seems to ALWAYS keep the original starting post on top.

I like it, seems like it's got a lot of flexibility for both users and administrators. Little more skill investment up front to find our way around, perhaps, but this is (largely) a pretty smart bunch! :p

I've seen some boards that only give the first sentence or two of the post. If you want to read the rest you have to click on it. I hate that.
And I've seen others where the threads seem to branch out into little sub-threads. I hate that too.

Like I said there... I will let y'all figure-out how it works, then you can share it with us computer illiterate folks.
I could get use to it...

But you Know that there a Members who don't visit as often as some of y'all who will be confused.
I'm guessing there will be some way to cure that problem in navigation... eh?

I'll give it a good test drive.
What I'll be looking for is the ability for us to communictate with each other with the ease that we do here. Bells & whistles are nice but if they get in the way of us talking to each other, it's not a good thing.

As JeffW said, this site florishes because of real people makeing real connections. Any type of software that gets in the way of that is not so good.

Who did you spend last weekend with? There was at least one other member that joined me and walked away when you guys started your geekspeak. I heartily subscribe to the KISS principle.

Can't really "see" anything here.
WhiteBackground/TimesRomanText/Boxesw/NoPictures.

I'll offer an opinion when I can see it at Home . . .

In general, the Social Networking site allows for MORE communication if that's possible. Not only are there the forums, but there are also "groups" and the ability to write on each others walls. There is also an email interface, and somewhere I read that there is a chat widget.

With so many features, and more than one way to view most, you are not going to see everything in five minutes... and what's the rush anyway. :)

I see already folks have uploaded Video and Pictures and started groups. Not a bad start.

Wanna bet? I haven't figured it out yet. Who was it that complained to Al or Miles and rocked my boat? I feel like Rainman, being forced to leave the home.

Geeez, here I go again...

Will the new format/capabilities reduce that cherished educational/inter-action/family soap opera atmosphere within the General forum? If so, then why jeopardize what has been proved to be a good thing and familiar to all that calls this site home.

Taking care of photo issues and some of the other complaints should not drive the owners nor the membership to unfamiliar territories at the risk of losing the totality of the spirit of this site.

Who remembers when the air was clean and sex was dirty? Oh well...

Just my $.02 FRN...
