Do I just wanna use Elmer's wood glue from the inside, and try to fill it with colored wax from the front? Or send it to Mother? With a total rebuild, it would be a beautiful guitar. With Elmer's, it would be a Classic old guitar... And probably still sound great.

But, anyway it's one of the longer auctions, so it'll be interesting to see how high it goes. Even with a crack it's still an original 83 Elite and that's a prize possesion in my book.

I sent it to the mothership and $400.00 later with shipping it is not the great bargain I was hoping for but it is a great guitar for the money. Same thing with my 1769 but it had to get a whole new bowl assembly, but is essentially a new guitar with lots of bling for relatively little money. I should buy this and change my name to Cracked-O.

Joined: November 2004 Posts: 1374 | the restorations John, Kim, and crew that have been done for me are outstanding... granted the shiny 12 and 1537 are basically new guitars now.. but I couldn't have gotten a mint one of these for less than I paid for the guitars and repairs combined. my 1537 had multiple issues and got a new top/bowl as did the shiny 12, and both are now very nice examples even if not original. the repair on the one currently on e-bay would probably be much less than I had done..
