I have an Ovation Patriot that I have to let go. It's an early one, withOUT the electronics.

I don't really want to, but things are getting tight all around. It's in very good shape, hardly any wear from use, but has a couple of minor dings that you can find if you look close enough that I surmise just came from moving it around.

If you are interested, email me at mileskb at aol.com.

It's going on eBay in the next couple of days if no one jumps on it from here.

Guys and gals...this is a great guitar...deep bowl, AAA spruce, A braced, great neck...from what I read on the Ovation site, this is the guitar that influenced Ovation to come out with the Collectors series...why? Even in the 1st couple of years, this guitar was attracting collectors. I have one of the acoustic and one of the a/e's.

In 1976, production run of 1,776, mold for the decal destroyed.

This is 32 years old...

I just saw this guitar up close last weekend. It's in VERY good shape, and had I had the $$, well... It would have been gone then.

I have #76, and it's going nowhere anytime soon. Love the sound, love the look, love everything about it. Good luck Miles. Someone here should take this one, you won't be disappointed.

A true patriot might hold off until he has a bunch of OFC fans at his house on July 4 to try to sell this.

It was a stencle, made in several steps by the same people who did the work for Hitchcock Chair. After the 1776th guitar the stencle(or however you spell it!) was destroid.

Miles:
Can you tell us your asking price for this beauty? I don't need another deep body 6 string but I love the whole patriot thing. I'm one of those old fashioned guys. I'd especially like to take it over to my friend's house (who only buys chinese guitars). We argue about it all the time.
So I'm hoping you tell me something high enough that I don't have a prayer of affording. Otherwise, I may go grovelling.

Jim

I can't figure out why I didn't find it when I searched for Ovation under Musical Instruments on ebay.

That seems to be a very reasonable BIN on the Patriot! As I find my self saying so often these days, I wish I was in the market!

BTW Miles, do you happen to have High res pics of your Patriot? That would be perfect for July in the OFC Calendar.

So Tony, Got high res pics? I'd really like a Patriot for the July calendar page...

That's the best that I have...an OFC story...lifted from a German website and put in my gallery as an example...then, the guy that owned the guitar listed on OFC to sell...several OFC'ers challenged him as to stealing my pics...solved by my adopting the guitar.

Will retake the photo when I have a little time this week as I have the COA, etc.

I'll see if I can't get some good ones of #76 the next day with nice weather here. I'm still curious as to the specific definition of hi-res. I use a 10 megapixel camera, but beyond that, I'm pretty ignorant of things photographic.

That should be plenty good, Patch. I've been thinking about Miles' guitar all day, but a couple days ago it was the Koa Collector.

Patch, Just set your camera for setting for highest quality. Or if it asks for a specific size, just pick the biggest numbers you see!

Thanks!

And somebody here really should grab this Patriot, I wish I could - nice guitar!
