In the limited time I played Mike's it seemed like an incredible bargain for the price compared to the original 47RI selling price.

Just not getting played enough compared to the 47RI or OFC (guess I just like the carved headstock and bridge). $1,700 plus insurance/shipping. 9158-0 OHSC. Limited time offer as every time I offer something, I start to appreciate and play it more. May be very difficult to find a 47RI. My # 3 wouldn't be pried from my hands for less than $7,000. U681T are showing up...patience is a requirement. I agree with the other posts...#1 talk to Al, #2 seriously consider the 2008 Collectors (from Al). There are many reasons why Al is my dealer...he has earned my business, trust, and friendship. Anyone out there considering the 2008 Collectors, better make the decision soon as it is a very LIMITED run.

Difference is that you can actually BUY an 08C if you want to. I've been spending more and more time with the 08C and it's really a WOW guitar. Sonically it compares VERY well with the 47/OFC. Sustain seems slightly less but volume and clarity is right there. Biggest complaint for me is the VIP electronics. I just don't like it. Personally, I'd LOVE to find a way to shove a CoolTube into the 08C. In the limited time I played Mike's it seemed like an incredible bargain for the price compared to the original 47RI selling price. Dave

Some of us have talked about how the Adamas "opens" up...initially, difference between the 47RI and the OFC. Hasn't taken long for the difference to be very little. Soon, doubt if there will be any difference other than one is acoustic and one a/e. I have no doubt that this will be true for the 2008C also. More you play it, better it will sound. What I'm not sure of is whether there is any difference that can be perceived between the hand layed bowl and the contour bowl. Doubt that there is much, if any. Al said he had an Adamas 1680, also a sweet slothead guitar.

I think we both (and others) thought it would have been bought quickly when you first offered it.

You PM'd me - why I don't know, I am not known for being an expert in plastic guitars - but since you never answered one of the threads you've started, which I think is more than unpolite, you've deserved my answer. And, happily, I am quite drunk now, so I am in the mood to let you participate in my wisdom:: You, SUPERADAMAS, asked for the the difference between 1 11/16 or 1 3/4 neck, Adamas I and II and #47 and the U681T? Well that is easy to answer. And I am really willing to be helpful: 11/16 is more narrow than 3/4, Adamas I is more gay than Adamas II - and 681 is black, the other one is red. So, if you are a redhaired type of guy, with spots all over, who always comes a little earlier than it should be, I'd choose the 47. If you are the taned and dark haired kind of motorcycle guy, the 681 would fit better. Be careful: One of them has a shorter neck, so if you'll use it as a defensive weapon - the shorter neck will give you a smoother punch. Soundwise, if this is what counts, both of these guitars are brilliant, but the problem would not be to find the right one, but to find any one of them. They are not available any more. And, if so, and some members pointed you to them, you don't react. Or answer. Or, whatever. Why??? So, SUPERADAMAS, if you really want to get into that special Adamas feeling, buy one. Never mind, where from. You got hints enough. Al has the 1680, the 2080, the 2008 Collector's, some other textured tops and lots of custom orders waiting for you. Stephen told you about the #47. Lots of choices. All of them reliable. You won't make a mistake with any of them. It's up to you. And, yes, I have all of them, as you've said in your PM. I don't answer it, 'cause I am sure you won't answer my reply, but you've got advice enough. Happy buying, Kurt
