These are interesting guitars. Very cool, no doubt. Tony has one as well. They are the first generation of the Artist series. I've never quite known what to call the bracing on the top. It's not quite X braced, but it's not VT bracing either...

I have F161, may have been made the same week. We had Kim look at the bracing once...he mumbled something. Whatever it is, appears unique.

As Paul and others have said in the past, a great sounding and playing guitar.

OK, who bought it?

For Sale Again! Price Reduced to $495 + shipping.

As I was packing the GC up, I noticed a hairline surface check about an inch and three quarters long near the binding below the sound hole. It does not go to the wood - only on the finish.

In all my playing it I never saw it before - it took a trick of light to see it.

Here's a photo.

Let me say, Rod is a great guy. He contacted me about the finish crack and gave me the option to back out with a full refund. Since I just bought the balladeer, and didn't want to risk making this any worse shipping it from Calif. to Fla, I figured I'd give it up to someone else.

Guys and Gals, although I can't see the finish crack in the photo...you can fix it! It is so close to 40 years old! Looks in great shape for a 39 year old guitar.

October of 2004, I paid $500 for mine with a poor to average brown case.

Some of the most respected members of this OFC have left drool after playing it...'nuff said. I have stated before that this is better than the '68 Deluxe Balladeer shiny bowl (my opinion but a couple of percentage points.) And, mine is only 4 guitars newer...most likely made at the same time.

Think about it...if someone else buys it and you have a chance to play it...you'll regret it.

Go out on the back porch, move ol' Yeller out of the way, puff on the corn cob pipe, and do some pickin'. The guitar will inspire you.
