Location: Phoenix AZ | Don't mean to pile on Al's post but I can offer some personal perspective about this one. At first I was somewhat skeptical about the '08. I was not impressed with the looks and based on other guitars I owned I didn't think it would stand with them acoustically (or at least let's say I didn't need yet another textured top adamas).
Happy to say I was WRONG on all counts. The looks of this guitar are STUNNING. Photos do not do it justice. It's not over-the-top ornate. MusicMike put it best "it's like a regular adamas wearing a tuxedo." The neck size/shape/profile is OOO-LA-LA fine and the sound is dripping with sweetness. You know, I'm not sure I've ever plugged it in! It's just THAT good acoustically.
There are a few of these still hanging around the shops and a few on ebay. Probably a statement about the overall economy. But if you can possibly scratch up the cash (or you're credit card has some headroom on it) NOW is the time to jump. If you could afford ONE reasonablly priced Adamas that would be equally at home on stage, in the studio, sitting next to your baby grand in the parlor - THIS WOULD BE IT.

Location: SoCal | I'm not big on the looks of these guitars, nor am I a contour bowl kinda guy. But I've seen and played these and everything Dave says about the sound and playability is spot on. For what Al charges, these are tremendous guitars (I understand that for some strange reason, not everybody agrees with me about the looks and contour bowls -- beats me as to why).
People need to jump on these as they won't come around again...... |

Location: East Wenatchee, WA | I will chime in too. Al's price was fantastic, the guitar is beyond anything I expected to ever own (while I can probably afford any guitar I would want, I am a mediocre player, so don't indulge too often).
The sound far exceeds my expectations and yes folks, while it is "different" than my 2080 or 1537, I consider it better than both in what I was trying to accomplish.
A testament to this fact was that I was trying to learn a new worship song last night. It was one that had a nice finger picking line throughout the song and in the past it was "man I wish my guitar sounded like that one". Well, my wife came downstairs (I was playing along with the CD) and said....I couldn't tell which guitar was which. The 08C was eq'd flat, VIP just a touch of #2. Both the CD and guitar were through my Mackie board and into a Bose L1. They sounded identical even though I know that guitar on CD was probably a very expensive unit recorded in a top notch studio. We were both amazed.
The 08C makes me sound like a much better player than I am.
P.S. Lot of "country folk" in Hermiston, and they LOVE the look compared to the 2080. They think it is exactly what it is...a very, very special instrument. |

Actually, your idea of going into partnership for it isn't half bad. Just insure it, set up an LLC and establish on line sharing schedule, just like an airplane partnership. Both are happy and financial accommodation reduced to half. Pretty good idea M & D. |

Location: Sydney, Australia | I'm just waiting for the Aussie dollar to rise to a suitable level (keeps falling, I should have done it a month ago). I'd have thought that the collapse of major financial institutions in the US would have hurt the US dollar, not sent it up against the Aussie dollar.
Whatever happens it will be no later than the end of the month. |

| Too bad you can't hang on a few of these Al, guitars like these (in fact I would say The Best Collectors ever made) IMHO they will be worth a bunch in the future. Like the 47's and the OFC Slotheads these Adamas guitars will stand the test of time and become sought after in the future. |
