I have for sale an Adamas 1 oblong cutaway prototype signed by Charles and Bill Kaman, with original case and case cover in immaculate condition.
Guitar has all original wiring, is dark blue and has been kept inside since received by Ovation. Original frets in excellent condition.

If anyone know what the value of this piece is, please post it. Ovation could not tell me.
Thank you

It's hard to determine the value of a piece like this one. Value is based upon what somebody in the marketplace would pay for it, not an arbitrary set number. Compared to other guitars, Ovations (and Adamii) are undervalued in the marketplace.

A guitar like this one, while very cool, is probably only going to be worth $2-$3000. A collector might pay more, but I wouldn't count on it.

This is only an estimate. Your actual mileage may vary.......

The owner is bringing it to my house tonight for pictures because it's been locked in the case for so long, he doesn't know if he has the key accessible, so I have a couple that may fit. I'll post them as soon as I can. It may not leave...

Let's not start any UGLY rumors. No, unfortunately, it's not. Not enough scratch for the itch. Beautiful guitar though, and in pristine condition. I don't think it's seen the light of day for quite some time. Sound to match. Signed by Beal and Papa. Nice!! :D

Are you sure it's 1979? I've got a feeling it's a little later, maybe 82/3-ish. Makes no difference, it's still a spectacular guitar. I've seen a handful of Ovation protos with that cutaway shape and I much prefer the shape that became the production version.

I kind of know what he's got in mind, but I'll let him post that. I do know a couple of people have shown interest in it so far. It's over my head though, I do know that.

Like on some protos the SN seems to be the date:
03-06-1980??

The cutaway profile is very close to my LEGEND PROTO.

That Adamas is a very nice model!!!

Thank you forum members for your kind comments.
I have received several offers for the guitar and am just waiting for everyone to send me an email that has shown an interest in this piece.
I have given them an asking price and am waiting for the counter offers to arrive.
I do appreciate the kind words from everyone hear.

If I unintentionally mistated any date or other information, I sincerely apologize, but I did not have the information handy with me upon first posting the guitar.

As Jim Cannon will attest, the guitar has no scratches, dings, or fret wear. The case has never been out of the case-cover since owning it, and has been kept in a climate-controlled, smoke-free environment it's entire life. I have not plugged it in since taking delivery of it when I went to the dealer to pick it up. I played it plugged in there, then asked the dealer to remove the battery, and I zero'd out the volume and tone dials.

The strings were detuned one whole step and the neck is absolutely straight and true as a result.
The guitar's condition is as I received it and it still smells as it did from the factory inside the sound epaulet.

If anyone else wishes to purchase this piece, I would be happy to return their email. Feel free to speak with Trader Jim as he has seen and held this piece and has been quite generous in taking the pictures of it for me and has inspected it personally.
