It has had only light use at home and is perfectly set-up and presented in its hard case with the Martin papers. Specs here: http://www.mguitar.com/guitars/choosing/guitars.php?p=m&m=000-42 The 000-42 has been the 14-fret Martin of choice for many artists. Eric Clapton, Paul Simon and many others used these to great effect. This is a great guitar with a great feel and a wonderful look. The neck profile is half way between the vintage V and the modern slim oval – it’s a comfortable profile to die for. This is an ideal guitar for finger-picking and for blues, and many other styles. It looks and sounds quality like only a Martin can, and I will be sorry to see it go. I have priced this guitar to sell fast, it’s a wonderful guitar! $3,500 plus shipping. Please email for photos and details. fusionacustica@gmail.com This is a great chance to own one of the ultimate guitars for a lifetime. Do not let it get away.

Other differences are the neck shape, this one is the old "V" and the pickguard is also different. Ah, the old OM-28V Mike, that is a great guitar, enjoy! Anyway, this 000-42 is really wonderful.

Serge, is the difference between this and the OM-42 that this one is short scale? regardless, no doubt that the martin 42 guitars are the best kept martin secret, they have the vintage forward shifted bracing - which the D45's don't - and from what I've seen - every bit as choice woods and workmanship. very few made every year - I have the D42 and it's lighter than any other guitar I've come accross. and sounds FANTASTIC good luck with sale !!

Martin makes two different shaped 000 bodies, one for 12 fret slothead guitars such as a 000-28, and one for 14 fret flathead guitars such as 000-28EC. I'm with you, if it's a 14 fret, should be called an OM The 14 fret 000 body just happends to be the same dimensions as an OM body so it's easy to get these confused. And then there are odd exceptions like the Norman Blake which is a 000 12 fret slothead neck on a 000 14 fret body, which by the way is an amazing combination.

I love it and have already considered rearranging the bandroom for its placement next to a vintage neon Martin sign. Better go ahead and place it on eBay and see what you can do. I'll be watching it for sure.

Joined: April 2004 Posts: 795 Location: Texas | This guitar is still available and I really rather not deal with ebay yet, at least for a few more days. So, I have decided to consider partial trades again. I am looking for some Ovation models in good condition. Legend, Artist, Classic, Country Artist and the only Adamas I will consider is the 1881 Shallow cutaway. I am open also for partial trades for some Gibson, Martin and Fender models. If you want this guitar and you have multiple Ovations and other guitars maybe we can make a deal with a partial trade and some cash. Let me know what you have. fusionacustica@gmail,com
