It's been a year since I had to wait all day for a guitar to arrive after checking the UPS Tracking to find that it's Out for Delivery. I should have had Al ship this one to the office, since I have to go right from here to play golf and won't get home till late. I might have to leave early again. The OFC didn't arrive till evening, so I never know when the UPS truck will show.

Next trip to Boise let's play guitars. I call the KOA.

Awesome Mark!
It's good to have a reason to get up and dress yourself sometimes.

I have been at home witha Nasal chest crud and I still perk up when I hear the USPS, FedEx and Brown vehicles on the Block.

We have sure graduated from the sound of the Ice Cream Truck (or haven't we)?

And give the Koa a while to acclimate in sound. New Jersey seems to suck the color out of life...

Just let me know when you'll be here, Dave. You'll have to bring you're alleged wife some time.
Mike, I'll only play 9. We had to do a makeup round for our Thursday men's league and this was the only night available, so the timing wasn't great, but it will be there when I get there.

Mark, did you pick up the 12 or 14 fret version? The top of each one of these models is unique and different, with features, color and finish characteristics that distinguish it from all the others. I added the tortie buttons available from Temp to mine as did at least one other. Temp now Koa buttons which would likely add even more to the beauty of the Koa top. Own and play it proudly. The rest of us sure do.

Incidently, Mark, inspired by your playing at the PNW jam, I've nailed down about 90% of Classical Gas. It is the only song I have where I start with finger picking (the first nine measures only because it just doesn't sound right any other way) and then switch to straight picking, which allows me to play with a lot more dynamics. Thanks for providing the inspiration!

12. I play mostly fingerstyle and like the sound and playability of my other 12 fretters. Someone at the Pacific Northwest Get Together pointed out that if I ever worked my way up the neck away from the cowboy chords, both the 12 and 14 have cutaways. The nut width is the same. I find the skinnier necks easier to play barre chords, so for me the wider nut eliminated the most significant consideration in getting a 14 fretter.
It boiled down to the 12 fretter being the most different from my other guitars.

I didn't have the 14 fret option when I committed to the 12 fretter, but I agree with you. Given the options, I would still choose the 12 fretter because it stands alone as the only 12-fret model in the bandroom.

My wife complained when she saw the picture that this one looked so plain, "except for the wood." Duh. She's right when she says she doesn't get it.
The wood was another tough choice. I took the one with some darker streaks. The one that Al has left has a lot of flame pattern in it. Both gorgeous, but different. One very lucky person can get the last one. I was the last one to pull the trigger on the OFC. Someone else needs to replace me as the worst procrastinator.

Randy, golf is a lot of work for me. I have a terrible problem keeping my mind on the very simple task of just hitting the damn ball. Tonight we play a couple of crusty old farts that like to chat us up and get our minds out of the game. It's going to be especially tough to focus with the Koa waiting at home.

I have to play in a charity tournament on Friday, too. One of my partners signed up, but can't go, so I'm bailing him out, just cuz I'm here to help. For 20 years when the kids were growing up, you couldn't drag me to a golf course. I hated it. It took a little while for me to get the bug again, just like guitars, but once I got it, I got it bad.

You know, clicking on the refresh button for the UPS tracking info seems to be a lot more boring than it was last year. Maybe I should go to lunch.

It's here!!! I told my wife she could open it, but she is going to leave me that pleasure. If I had worked through lunch instead of clicking the refresh button 60 times, maybe I could get out of here early. Might be a late night.
