Don't know the exact model number, but it was a natural top, acoustic only, deep bowl, non-cutaway I bought new in 1973 for something like $350. It was stolen from a motorhome at the beach in 1981, so I replaced it with the 1651 Ltd which I still own.

"82 Custom Legend 12string, Tobacco sunburst finish. Lost it in a house fire back in '02. It was without a doubt the finest guitar I've owned. : (

76 Matrix. Bought in 77 to play at our wedding. It was a small step up from an Applause, but I wanted one that said Ovation on it. Still have it in excellent condition.

Over paid for my first Ovation, Celeb CC057, in Jan '07. It was my first guitar in over 30 years. It's been a joyous and exhilarating 'ride' ever since!

76 or 77 Matrix - lasted about a year before it crash landed on the altar in church. No BFLG back then... Bought a Preacher around '79.

1992 Celebrity Deluxe. I sold it about a year after I bought it. I didn't get another guitar until 2003 when I got my Adamas.

1972 Artist, model 1121. Bought it on layaway for $295 ($30 off due to a chipped ear). Kept it until early 1979 when I traded it in on a 1978 Legend (1117).....

Matrix acoustic electric 12 string.

2nd variation with the REAL and not aluminum neck,

Still have it. Has a crack in the finish from the bridge to the binding, but adds character, an I LOVE the sould of that deep bowl.

1980 Custom Legend 1158 (acoustic slothead), dark sunburst...was brought to Portland from NAMM by Marty of Marty's Guitars. Sold it to me at his cost.

In 1991, sold it and other guitars and amps (except the Martin D25-K2) to put the money into my business. Not a bad decision as my business is the reason I have been able to get a few others.

As an aside, until I stumbled onto the OFC in 2003, the Martin was my only guitar. So, I can credit or BLAME the other OFC'ers...you know who you are!! :D

1982 Legend 1117, bought it on holidays in the US after only playing for three months. Got an Ovation because my friend said "Don't get an Ovation, because I'll be jealous".

Gave it to my sister in law (my nephew has since claimed possession) as a condition of buying the Adamas W597. Sold that to buy the 08C.

I'm visiting the Legend this weekend. Might say "Happy 18th" to my nephew while I'm there.

A Deacon, purchased used in '75 or '76. I still have the manual and maybe the receipt. It has survived my electronic tinkering and is still in great shape.
