I saw this O on another post here and checked it out. It still is for sale. I emailed the guy and am waiting to hear back. I live in Syracuse, so I am close enough to deal with him. I have a question about it. It says that it is strung with nylon strings. Is this a classical style guitar. Is the neck wider than say a legend or an elite? I am getting it for my son and he has small hands but a big heart and talent. Can it be strung with regular steel strings? Thanks for the help folks.

Git is here: http://binghamton.craigslist.org/msg/1220027479.html

Thanks, Hoss

Nylon, 1 7/8". I also have small hands and some 'reaches' are challenging. But a great lil' guitar nonetheless!

This one has been OFC tracked HERE .

Please buy it. I need a Country Artist like another hole in my head, but I'm just down the road, too, and it's driving me crazy that it's there for $200!

As I mentioned in the other thread, it's down the road, but I'm out of town, so it's not...quite...in...reach...whew.

If it was just a little further east, we wouldn't be having this conversation.

Ok you guys have convinced me. I am picking it up tomorrow at 11:00am. I have never had a classical guitar before. My son plays a little classical guitar, if you consider Mood for a Day classical. He has had no classical training, although he is presently learning finger picking. Well, we will try this Country Artist out for a bit and see how he likes it. If he doesn't, I may put it up on here to trade. What he really wants is a nice Legend. I know that there are plenty of Legends here. So, maybe someone has one to many legends and wants to add a Country Artist to his/her collection. I just want my boy to have a nice guitar that inspires him. Since I got my Custom Elite, he doesn't like to play anything else. (Can't blame him) The fellow that I am buying from says that it "plays like butter". That sounds pretty good to me. I can't wait to fart around with it.

Thanks, Hoss

Thank you! I think you'll see the nice thing with the Country Artist is it has a brighter/livlier tone than a lot of nylon string guitars.

Question: The only problem with this guitar, according to the seller, is that one of the battery terminals pulled off due to corrosion. The battery was apparently left in for many years and when he tried to replace the battery one of the connectors came off with the battery. Is this going to be a difficult fix? How does this affect the value of the guitar? Also, does anyone have an estimate of approximate value?

I would think that would be a relatively easy fix. That wouldn't stop me at all, Hoss, especially at that price. Estimate of the value? No idea here. The best you might be able to do is search here or the bay for completed sales but even that can swing wildly at times.

Bought it! It is on the way home. Can't wait to play it. Sent my son down. The guy met us halfway so we didn't have to go all the way to Binghamton. Cool Beans. Included the git, case, strap and stand. Great deal.

Halfway, Cortland or Whitney Point? With the price of gas up there that just sweetened the deal.

Cortland. Kids tell me that he and his wife were very nice and he seemed very distressed to let it go. I feel for him. My son, Logan, loves it and got to play it for my very amazed and impressed family over the weekend at our annual family reunion. I am very proud of the little guy. Best thing about this whole deal is he paid for it himself with tips that he has saved up from working with me at the pizza stand and $75 bucks that he got for selling his fender acoustic. I will post some pics soon.

I'm sure that although the seller had a hard time letting it go, that he took consolation from the reaction of your son. The whole thing sounds like a dream. After the cost of fuel both ways, and the guy's time, it looks like your son got it for a wing and a prayer. Sweet Deal! Congratulations!

Now you just need to get your son to join the club officially (:

Vince

I may get him to join the club officially, but keep in mind that he is 12 years old. A very mature and intelligent 12 yr old, to be sure. I am not sure how much he will contribute to the group. At least he would rather play his O than RockBand on the playstation. ;-)

12 YEARS OLD!!!? ... Your son has got to have the best dad in the world!

Knowing that now ... this group may prove to be a bad influence on him at this vulnerable age.

(:

Damn. Though, on the flip side, I've always been more comfortable in a different state...
