This is about as pristine of an example of the rare discontinued 000-17S Martin as you will find. All solid Mahogany top, sides, and back, slot head 12 fret slope body design. I would conservatively rate it at a 9.8 condition. Comes with upgraded Geib style case (5 series Martin case) in new condition also. 1550.00 shipped conn US. ![]()

BTW ya'll, that's one drop dead pretty guitar with a surprising lovely sound. I say surprising because I had never played one before Jim's and the sound caught me off guard.

Anyone wanting to hear a 12 fret all-mahogany slothead sound can listen here (right channel, opposite the vocals, which are not me): Good luck with this sale. These are fabulous guitars. They ring and ring, and are very delicately responsive.

Had she not bought me a D-18 just a few weeks ago, I would have been the first one to bid on this magnificent guitar. Instead I will join Gulfcoast and Trader Jim on the crying list. Enjoy!

I've had major GAS for this critter ever since I first laid eyes on it, but had given up hope that TJ would ever let it go. Not even a month ago he told me that it would be the last one to leave. (or was it the CEO, I think it changed as the evening went on). I'd never buy a Martin without playing it first because they vary so much within a model, so there was another incentive to take the plunge. Weaser, I know I gave you the hard luck story when we traded on the UTE. All I can say is that I am weak. Also, if things get real tight, I know there is a market for the Martin. Jim, you would of course have first dibs, but I don't see this one going anywhere anytime soon. I'm looking forward to bringing this one home. Blues
