Joined: March 2002 Posts: 15682 Location: SoCal | You know, it's not just that this guitar has seen very little playing time, it's spent most of the last 20 years in it's case. Every other 87C I've seen has had a very dark top with 20 years of aging on top of the aging toner originally used. This one is no darker than mine (which has a top that's only a year and a half old). Somebody needs to buy this guitar.....

Not meaning to hijack the thread, but in my bedroom, I've got my 87C, my A braced Legend, and the OFC guitar (ding!). Toby once commented that all Ovations have that "Ovation sound" to them. To a degree, it's true, but those guitars, which I believe are the best examples of a round deep hole O, and deep multi hole, wood topped O, and a deep bowl Adamas, all sound very very different. If you were to toss in the FD14, you'd realize that simply saying that all deep bowl Ovations sound alike is very untrue....
