Joined: November 2006 Posts: 3969 | Another early 2 knobber - from the back plate it's probably in the low hundred series and with CHK sig. Seller (pawn shop) says electronics don't work, but that could just be a dead battery. Even so, updated electronics are an easy get & fix. | ||

Joined: November 2006 Posts: 3969 | There's nothing wrong with those knobs - those are the original "dot" knobs. They switched to the numbered ones later. The factory (or you) can certainly replace the electronics if it's really needed (I still think it's just a dead battery), but I would keep the knobs for historical accuracy. | ||

Joined: November 2006 Posts: 3969 | Excellent grab! I halfway thought about trying for it and selling off my slightly newer one if I'd gotten it. Glad for you I blew it off. Attitudes come and go. My SWMBO limits me to 6 guitars (I have 12 currently, another 2 possibly on the way in the coming weeks). First thing you do, change the battery. I'll bet that's the reason the seller said the electronics aren't working. If they really are fried, you can order a new one from Mother - the updated design they used for the re-issues is supposed to be better anyway. And let me know about the tuning buttons. | ||
