Joined: August 2003 Posts: 4619 Location: SoCal | it is a 'major' finish crack - however, you could probably work some acrylic paint into the crack. not sure if it has the same finish (catalyzed polyester as a top coat) - if so, with a little sanding and paint, it would be hard to see. | ||

Joined: April 2008 Posts: 498 | The 1718-6P that I sold to Thierry(Guigite) in France had a similar finish only crack(definitely not top through) in the lower Bass side bout and I used a white furniture Scratch/Scuff stick(glorified crayon though harder wax) on it... ran it up and down the crack and then buffed off the excess... the crack is now almost invisible. There are still some hurdles but should all go well it will be an interesting addition for me. From my archive searching it is highly regarded as SSB's go and one bit of advice said that if most of your playing is done live and standing up then it's the best way to go for a 12 and that's where it will be used the most. More when it arrives. | ||

Turns out that I wasn't that far off. I didn't buy it but whoever did got a great deal. More people should listen to me and the world would be a better place for it. | ||
