Is there anyone up in Seattle that could grab that for me?

Thanks Woody but that's way out of your way.

I'm sure one will eventually turn-up on eBay or another CL seller will surface that won't be so adverse to shipping.

Fletcher, are you in California or Oregon? I've got a daughter in Tacoma, not far away, and my other daughter might be able to take it with her to northern California after Christmas. But I have to disclose that if she picked it up, it would probably end up in Idaho instead of California. I should probably sell a couple so I could justify a 97. I can rationalize buying a parlor guitar because it's a different size than the 15 other Ovations I've got hanging around.

Iffy and Mark,
Sorry for the delay, just got in from work.

I've contacted the seller to see if anything can be set-up quickly for a third party pick-up but I haven't heard back yet.

Thanks again guys...

I was just reminded that my daughter will be flying in tonight instead of driving. Getting it on the airplane during the Christmas madness will not be likely. You might contact Damon and see if he'd pick it up and ship it down. I think he's pretty close.

Well,

Looks like all ideas have been exhausted so the '97C, I assume, will be staying in Seattle.

Thanks to everyone for their attempts to help me get this one down to CA, but as Iffy said,"I wasn't meant to have THIS one."

There's lots of them out there and they seem to come up for sale pretty often. You'll find one.

I suppose I should try a 97 before I sell off a couple to make room for a one. I thought a parlor guitar would be nice for some variety, but I thought the same about the SSB Custom Balladeer and the Country Artist, both of which are gathering dust.

Same 97c on CL, new listing

Guitar has been reposted, and Fletcher I'm sorry that I missed this post originally. Check your PM as I'd be happy to help.

The Parlor really is different from the others--mine is the one I usually play when I'm home, unless I really need the extra frets from the cutaway. I still thoroughly enjoy the tonal qualities my Princess has, and it's been several months now. (The wonderful thin neck doesn't hurt, either.)
If you get one, Mark, you may not just let it become a case dweller...and, if you would like to try one, come to Ali's Black Hills jam the end of June (coming up quick, now)--I know she's got the 14-fret version there for us to enjoy.

I was thinking about this one this morning again. It's the same price I paid for the Patriot, which is a great guitar, but I have another Custom Legend. I have 3 Balladeers and the Custom Balladeer doesn't get played. The Country Artist sits in the case in the office. If I could unload one or two of those, the 97 would at least be something different.
I'd love to go to the Black Hills jam, but it's a surprisingly long drive from here and I will be driving or flying to Chicago the next week.

RNickels kindly took his own time today to check on the Seattle parlor and found its condition wasn't exactly as advertised (understatement), so through his kindness a lot of money was saved.

Thank you again Ryan!

Just got an e-mail from the parlor owner stating that I was unfair to make the statement, "condition wasn't exactly as advertised (understatement)" as I had not actually seen the guitar.

This is true and I apologize publicly.

I have no direct knowledge of the guitar's condition.

Screw him. This is a forum for posting guitar related opinions. Your opinion was that the condition was not as advertised. Fair enough. If he's that hung up on your post you'd probably only be asking for trouble to deal with him. Stuff happens for a reason.
