IN A SHOP IN JAPAN!!!

What for a wonderful guitar...
It's probably already too late because the sale is "on hold" but who knows???
It would be a fantastic gift for the beginning of 2010. ;)

Wow, how beautiful!

How much are they asking for it in U.S. dollars Jerome? I could not figure it out ...

Very nice indeed!

There is a long thread about the doweled neck someplace way back in the archives. Too lazy to look it up, but if memory serves correctly the topic was gone over in extreme detail.

I thought I rememebered something about a doweled neck. Just wasn't sure if this was the guitar or not.
I am sure one of our spot on historians will find and provide the link.

Those inlays also look white instead of the sparkly gold....plus the strap button.

Looks like a fair amount of potential changes.

Did anybody translate the asking price?

The inlays were white when i had the guitar back in 1997 maybe 98? I beleive the inlays are original and not changed. The dowels were also there back when i bought it from Bill..I think when Bill bought the guitar he had the service dept. go over the guitar. There is probably a service record on file.My best guess as to why the dowels were there is the heel may have seperated from the neck and it was glued and screwed back together that would have made it necessary to use wood dowels to cover the screw holes?Maybe Bill or Kim can remember.I remeber having 31 and 57 at the same time but liked 57 much better soundwise.31 sounded very good but a bit bright and 57 was much warmer and more balanced. Also the wide fingerboard on 57 appealed to me.

Here is a pic of both in my collection at the same time. 57 on left

vince, do a search on threads by Sam to learn about the woodtop Adamas.
There is a whole thread with pictures of the build process, etc.

The one in the picture is an original, not the custom job by Sam.

The one Al has is the dreadnaught version if I correctly recall. This one looks like the 1537 with the Adamas I bridge, neck, and headstock.

Drool, Drool!

Yes, you are correct. This one is basically an Adamas I with a wood top, two knobs, stereo and mono input jacks.
