I own and am selling on eBay a factory custom 1975 Ovation Country Artist. It's outfitted like a Custom Legend and is in very nice shape. My friend told me he saw one close to it on the OFC site before, and that many folks may simply want to see the photos in the auction or hear my included stereo audio clip even if they are not in the market for it. The auction number is 180450999762 or you can search 1975 Ovation Country Artist. The auction will begin Wed, Dec. 30th at 11pm EST. and run for 10 days. Thank You and I hope someone who's into Ovation nylon guitars enjoys seeing it.

You didn't bother to read the large red print at the top of the forum or didn't think it applied to you? Then nobody should trust the accuracy of your description on eBay. 'nuf said. -Steve W.

You posted the auction where there are pics and people can bid, so don't sweat it. I think that guitar, tho', may redefine "bling". Did Ovation do all the inlay work? I am curious tho', how can you have a member number of 5000 and not really be aware of the OFC?

Doesn't take a detective to see that "nor did I really know this website existed" doesn't seem true. Too bad, it could be a nice guitar. -Steve W.

If the only reason to post with us is to sell at least present it with fewer "aires". 85 12 string Do you know the ownership history on the 1624-4A you are offering? And yes, that is a little Abalone overload. Probably why I bid on it...

Joined: October 2006 Posts: 6 Location: detroit michigan | Hi, You get a lot of opinions around here! To explain I did join but have not logged into the OFC site for a long time, in fact I really had forgotten about the site since I posted an Adamas 12 string here several years ago. That was my last login. In my original post I confused this site with the Ovation Tribute Website. Anyway to clarify some posts, the fingerboard edging is original as are the diamonds and dots on the board. Those are all Abalone while the others are MOP. The Rosette and the top edging are original Abalone also. I bought it from a music store in Texas a number of years ago, and had been researching it ever since with little luck. I don't want to be confortational on your forum, but for people who want to gripe, and complain, please feel free to just flag or ask the moderator to privately remove the post. I thought the members of your site would be informed and knowledgeable Ovation fans who might want to see soemthing out of the ordinary. As I have no idea how to post photos to your site (and I see someone already did "thanks" I assumed this would be the proper location for the guitar) Of course it benefits me to show the guitar here, but for those not wanting to buy it, I spent several hours taking the photos of it and they benefit from seeing a true custom ordered Ovation as clearly as I could present it. Thanks.

Some guys just need more fiber in their diet. Don't let them get to you. I included the link to your auction with the photo. You photos are more then adequate.

Like the guitar - win the auction, don't like the guitar - don't bid. And, if you are not bidding, stop criticizing - unless it is misinformation or you have specific knowledge of a misrepresentation, you do not have (IMHO) the right to deride a seller's position. Frankly, I appreciate that he made a posting as I find it interesting. This is a unique guitar... And, good pictures and narrative. Heck of a lot better than most.

Guy's selling a guitar on ebay and gives us notice. Not posting a price or pics on the board 'cause it's well spelled out on the 'bay. Works for me....

Joined: September 2002 Posts: 153 | This guitar was for sale at Guitar Center in Austin earlier this year (2009), and was also offered on the GC website for several weeks. I had the opportunity to observe and play it, and it is in good shape with the exception of the bridge saddle, which, as pictured in the post, is very low. I did not purchase the guitar because, although it is presently playable, it is on the verge of needing a neck reset. That being said, it is an attractive guitar for someone who likes a lot of abalone.
