That is very cool . . . so many dealers, but only one gets 1/50.

It means that he's getting 1/50, the first one in the series, not that it's the only one he's getting. If that were the case, then he'd say "I'm only getting one and it's 1/50".

Somebody should grab this one. It's gotta be a great guitar.....

Sometimes procrastination saves money and headaches. I was about to curse Al for being such an enabler. So now I'll thank him for selling it to someone else. There are still 49 left to add to the list, though.

how does it sound?

wow I was really impressed very full very loud very articulate.
nice action nice playing responds to heavy playing without quacking and responds to soft playing with articulation.

very even up and down the neck. the spruce is very nice even flamey.

too cold to take it outside to photograph
the new owner lives in a warmer part of the states

49 left to go ......

It's amazing to me in this day and age that the newest Collector Series guitar listed on the Ovation Website is a 2008 model. However, I'd rather they be better at building guitars than managing websites.

I can't even find more info on the 2010 Collectors on Google. Does anyone besides Al know what these things look like? Or have pics?

A contour back. I shoulda guessed. I guess I should give up hoping Ovation does a Collectors guitar with a real back anymore.

Are you saying that you have ordered 50 of 50 and that it is available? Or are you saying that 50 of 50 is already spoken for?

As far as I know they have never done a collectors guitar with a real back.
