Wine color with black edge burst and carbon fiber "binding" Composite Acoustics GXi with Baggs active electronics. 1 3/4 nut, standard scale. All carbon fiber, including neck which is one piece with the body. Pretty well indestructible and impervious to moisture or temperature extremes. Only issue being two VERY small dings in the finish on the side of the upper bout next to the sound hole. Could be touched up with the right color nail polish, but they never bothered me much. Comes with original deluxe gig bag that has more pockets than most would ever need or use. 1200.00 shipped Conn. US.

I've also got a Guardian 6 latch hard case that fits this guitar perfectly. I would include it with the gig bag for another 100.00.

This purple is much richer looking in person than it looks on the computer.

That was REALLY fast, TJ. I like the color. Just curious: How do these sound? Anything to compare it to? Any sound clips floating around?

Good luck with the sale. That case reminds me of the '97C's case. Nice.

I'd like to have one like this for my beach house. It's 220 steps to the ocean, and NOTHING holds up down there. Salt in the air is so corrosive. Something like that might make a whole lotta sense for an environment like that. Lanaki, are you watching?

Willa,

Just go to Composite Acoustics website. There should be sound clips available there.

Here is a review:
http://guitaristas.ning.com/forum/topics/review-of-composite-accous...

I have only played the Cargo but I was very impressed and if I had the $$ I would get one in a second.

Mac Nichols guitars sells the GXi for about $1800 so Jim's price is a steal especially when you consider that used CA's go for almost the original guitar price and that Mac Nichols has the best prices on CA's. I think it would be perfect for a beach guitar (albeit a lot more than I could afford for that usage). Put a plastic plug or an old piece of chewed gum :) in the input jack to keep the sand out.

Willa there are quite a few youtube clips of CA guitars, do a search there.

I like my CA OX just fine.
I plays really nice and sounds great too.
Its a second fiddle to my O's cause I'm biased but they really do put out a lot of sound.

I was fortunate enough to play this guitar at G8rbowl this weekend. Nice Fingerstyle guitar, easy player. Nice tone! As Beal said the "Purple is a very deep "rich" color. Wish I had the funds! Good Luck TJ!!

Well, the only thing I had against this guitar was the color (as Beal mentioned), so I took matters into my own hands. I stripped the tuners and strings, masked off the fretboard and bridge, and gave it a light dust coat of satin black. I think it looks much better now and am taking it off the block (for now).

Actually, this guitar looks different every time I look at it. Since I sprayed it, it looks black from an angle and dark wine (Port?) when looking straight at it.

Jim,

Nice job. I did like the way the guitar played and sounded when I was down there last week.

I've always been intrigued by CA. Seems like the company has some nice capabilities. Would be cool to see CA and Adamas hook up and leverage the best of both parties.
