It has a woody mellowness like none other. Pristine condition, including hardshell case, blah, blah, blah ... The beauty of this guitar is the 12 fret neck with 1-3/4 nutwidth. Plays like butter and has a voice like no other Ovation. Wonderful acoustically or plugged in. I'm a little full up on 12 fretters at the moment which is the only reason I am selling it. I will miss it for sure, but it's not getting played (did I mention that it has no signs of wear?) and would be better served elsewhere. In 2003 I was the one on this forum who first discovered this rare specimen and the general reaction was WTF? It's a plain jane. No neon colors, no cutaways, no inlays, no gay epaulets, no complicated electronics. Just pure sweet tone. As far as I know, nobody that has heard one or bought one has been disappointed. Of course I had the neck GLOSS finished, just like I do on every guitar. And while at it, I had a Josh White signature logo applied to pay homage to the original. Also swapped out the tuner buttons for pearloid. Show up to a gathering of players using wooden guitars and the FD14 will change their opinion of Ovation right quick. Guitar is on mint/new/pristine condition. Only left my house a few times and it lives in a humidity controlled environment. There are some lines and blotches in the cedar that you can see in the photo, but that's just mother nature. More details are on my website: OVATION GALLERY Year: 2003 Bowl: Deep non cutaway Top: AAA Cedar Binding: Inlaid walnut and tortoise shell Bracing: Modified "A' bracing Scale length: 25 1/4" Fretboard: Ebony Bridge: Ebony Rosette: Inlaid walnut and tortoise shell Pickup: Tru Balance Preamp: Direct out end pin jack Nutwidth: 1 3/4" Tuners: Gold Schaller w/ pearloid buttons Neck: 5 piece gloss finished Headstock: Gloss slotted w/ Josh White signature Price is $1800. including 2 Day FedEx shipping in the CUSA PM or Email me if interested.

Brad (BluesSailor) had brought one there and I was immediately impressed with the austere, yet classic look, and it's construction, Then... I got to play it... whoa... finger picker's (in my case, thumb strummin') delight! Mine is my 'right next to me'/'go to' guitar. If you were the one responsible in bringing the FUD to the OFC forefront, hats off to ya!

I was the last person to purchase an FD-14 from Kotadawg from this Forum and this is the only one I kept while selling off many great sounding Ovations. Don't miss this opportunity for a very unique guitar!

Dave, plaese tune down the strings for the journey, I won't be glad to send it back to the mothership immediately for a repair. And well... it was expensive (€ vs. $ is very bad for me @this time) but Dave's FD-14 was my "Dream-FD-14" since I've found it on his page. I love gloss and wide necks and also the headstock, Dave has upgrated it. I can't resist. Bernie
