no we are not chopped liver. If a dealer wanted to order special guitars like the ofc guitar for example, it can happen. There is a minimum order and you just have to commit to those guitars. Please keep in mind that the Asian and european markets are very different than the US market. For reasons that I don't understand, Ovation is not the red headed step child in those markets.

Maybe the "chopped liver" comment was a little to strong. I know for a fact that Ovation does not concider the collective "we" in a bad way.
However...I got my answer. The market drives the product. The Japanese market supports Ovation in such a way that allows different things to happen.
Seeing pictures of all those different color ukes brought the question to mind.
Thanks Al.

Not chopped liver, it's more like put your money where your mouth is. The Japaneese distributor will give a special order and make it for 25+(or whatever the number is to make the model work) pieces. They also want something that can't be bought very cheap in the states and brought into Japan and resold, avoiding the duty etc which is considerable over there. It's been done for Germany too and Sam Ash as well. There have probably been some for Guitarget as well but I'm not sure of that.

You guys are a bunch of dorks.

I know it doesn't rhyme, but I couldn't think of a word for dork that rhymed with greener.

It's an American slang term meaning "lack of respect" or "not deserving attention".

She did have a certain "aire" about her.

Perhaps we should switch over to Haiku?
