What is your favorite banjo song to either listen to, sing along with or play? Mine is Sweet City Women. Though it could also make the terrible lyrics post with the following:

La la la la la do do do do do do doo she's my sweet sweet sweet sweet city woman.

It's hard to top "Sweet City Women".
Let's go off the beaten path...
Steve Martin's "Rambin' Guy".

I was afraid to put in the "guilty pleasure" thread...but there was a time.... a long time ago...when I owned.... a banjo.

Some blasts from the past. I still play the guitar break from Sweet City Woman for sound check. I also used to be in a band that did Midnight Flyer, and I did, in fact, play the banjo. Great tunes, both of them. But what really drew me to the banjo was John Stewart's break in Rider. It turned out it wasn't all that hard to play, but the first time I heard it I though it was nothing short of magic.

What's the name of that banjo song from the movie "Bonnie and Clyde"? The one from all the chase scenes.

Also; "Dont Cross the River" by America

and; "Old Man" by Neil Young.

Didn't they also play "The Beverly Hillbillies'" theme song?

Bela Fleck did a version of Spain by Chick Corea. David Grisman, Jerry Douglas and Sam Bush also played on it.

I really like the first 3 Flecktone albums.

And the song at the end of the movie Raising Arizona with the banjo and yodeling.

"Whiter Shade Of Pale", R. Stevie Moore.

Best damn version of that song I've ever heard, AND it includes the 4th mystery verse which was never recorded by Brooker (was played live) but rumor has it that this is the only recording that has it.
