Thought I'd introduce my newest to you since I have pics.

I love the look (downright sexy) but the gold tuning pegs seem out of place to me. Black/White/Chrome makes more sense I think. So I'm considering a swap. Of course I'll do some searching around here before I do anything.
One tidbit I haven't been able to find... For the shallow bowls, do they make a slim line hard case? The case she came in is the same as my deep bowl with more filler. Online they all seem to have the same pic of the case as well.

I have a shallow bowl Ovation, and the size of the case that came with it, is the same as the rest of the hard cases of my other guitars. I was hoping for a case that was slimmer to save space -- similar to an electric guitar case -- but unfortunately, they're not available.

Currently, the only shallow bowl cases that I know of, can be purchased as either having the model number 9117 or 8217. Good luck.

Nope... that one's all mine. Got her used at GC 3 months ago. I have to wait to salvage my sister's.

I did the same - swapped the gold hardware on my 1996 Collector's with chrome ones. I don't like the gold tuners together with black and abalone or mop. Same with the burgundy top of the 1996.
I am sorry, but I am to stupid to upload a photo. I tried it in the gallery, but I am not a computer pro. Sorry.
But be assured - a black headstock with abalone logo, chrome tuners and perloid buttons looks great!
Regards, Kurt

PS.: If interested, I will send you the picture via PM.

Kurt, I had some trouble uploading photos last night. Got some to work, but others didn't. I couldn't figure out why it wouldn't work with certain pictures, even though I shrunk them all down to the same size.

Check the file size. I think it's pretty strict on the 100k limit. Phil had the same problem.

Thank you Mark! Your reply gives me a little hope that I am not a complete computer idiot! I will try it again...
Best regards, Kurt

By the way, congratulations to your 1987 Collector's. This is really a wonderful guitar!

EDIT: Thank you guys, it worked. It really has to be not bigger than a 100 k.

The picture with the chrome tuners is now in my gallery - Pics for Posts.

Don't assume that! I am a computer idiot and proud of it. I don't think the problem was with the size of the pics, since I reduced them to the 500 width and I thought that other pics of the same size posted fine, but I'll have to check sometime when I get home. I did manage to get a few new pics on.

I've noticed that if you're resizing/saving .jpegs in PhotoShop:

One of the "options" in the Saving process relates to ImageQuality (and has a SlidingScale of 01-12).

Your natural instinct is to save it in the "Maximum" Quality range.

I've found that that if you save it in the upper reaches of the "Medium" (or "High") Range(s), the Gallery software seems to accept it a little easier. . .

Mark, if the picture is too wide, it will almost always be downsized automatically.
But if it is over 100k, it will very likely be rejected. There are other factors besides pixel dimensions that can affect file size.

EDIT: oops, Cliff, I see you got here before me... I thought you couldn't post from work anymore?

For Mac-Users:
I tried it first with resizing in PhotoShop - didn't work.
Then I opened the pictures with iPhoto, pushed the "send with Mail-Button", and the pictures are shrinked automatically to a size close to a 100 k. Then i dragged the new created file to the desk and from there I uploaded it.
Surely it is not the most elegant way, but for a computer crack like me it is very simple!

With Waskels help I realized what happened with my photos. I reduced all my photos to 500 pixels as requested. Most of my verticals were more than the 100k size. I have to downsize about half my photos again tonight so that I can put them in the gallery.

That would be accurate, Stephen... considering the surroundings. Here's the original picture I shot before removing the less appealing aspects.

In case you didn't notice, this was a banana tree. Sheesh. I just hope my Balladeer didn't hear you and take offense.

No, those don't grow so well in Africa.
